Janet Evanovich's No. 1 New York Times bestselling sensation Stephanie Plum returns in her latest captivating thriller where mutilated corpses litter the streets of New Jersey.

It's a pretty routine week for bounty hunter Stephanie Plum.

Headless bodies have started appearing across town in Trenton, New Jersey. At first, it's just corpses from a funeral home and the morgue that have had the heads removed. Then a homeless man is murdered and dumped behind a church. Stephanie Plum knows that she's the only one with a prayer of catching this killer.

If that's not enough, Diesel's back in town. The six-foot-tall, blond-haired hunk accepts no limits - that includes locked doors, closed windows and underwear. Trenton's hottest cop, Joe Morelli, isn't pleased at his arrival, nor is Ranger, the high-powered security consultant with his own plans for Stephanie.

Jersey's favourite bounty hunter is stuck in the middle with more questions than answers. Who is behind the startling epidemic of mutilated corpses? And is the enigmatic Diesel's sudden appearance a coincidence or the cause of recent deadly events?

loved it, but I thought Ranger wasn' t as sexy as usual. Needs more RANGER IN THE NEXT ONE. DEEPLY DEPRESSED AS IT WILL BE A FULL YEAR BEFORE THE 25TH BOOK COMES OUT😣." STAYING ALIVE 25 " WOULD BE A GOOD TITLE OR " LET'S STAY ALIVE 25". Many thanks JANET for the book and thanks to LORELEI for her EXCELLANT narration. LOVE LOVE LOVE ALL YOUR BOOKS. I HAVE LISTENED TO ALL OF THEM. ANY NEW NICOLAS FOX BOOKS READY FOR RELEASE ON AUDIBLE? JANET YOU ARE A MASTER STORY TELLER. MANY THANKS AGAIN.😚😚😚

Elayne62 just loved it, but that's nothing new.

the narrator is excellent, engaging and easy to understand. While I love this series I do believe it may be time for a few changes: stop destroying cars, pick either Morelli or someone else because we know Ranger isn't going to commit. The mysteries are usually well thought out and plotted. Maybe mama Plum needs to go to rehab? Also the focus on Lula's weight is getting tired as well as the fact she used to be a prostitute. Let's let her character grow a bit outside those parameters.
That said , I always breeze through these and have a smile on my face while reading them!
