His disconnected nature and obsessive behaviour makes him a challenging protagonist, but I found this anti-hero compelling, engaging, and I was rooting for him from the beginning. Gia is Tate's long-suffering PA, who naturally evolves into the perfect foil to his darkness. Her resilience and inner strength shine through as she navigates his demanding and often cruel world.
This audiobook is an amazing enemies-to-lovers story, that turns an unusual business proposal into an absorbing romance. The tension between Tate and Gia is palpable from their very first interaction. Gia's deal to marry Tate, a man who believes himself incapable of love, creates an intriguing and high-stakes situation.
This story is packed with suspense and danger from the beginning as Tate's involvement with the mafia puts both of their lives at risk. The gripping plot, coupled with the strong character development, made it a page-turner for me. L.J. Shen also treats long-time fans to welcome mentions of other characters from her shared world, adding extra satisfying moments that I really enjoyed.
Handsome Devil is a brilliant listen, a dark and passionate story that shows that even the most broken of hearts can find its way back to the light. It's a fitting finale to The Forbidden Love series. Notable mentions to the narrators who brought the two characters to life.
