About this listen

An original novel set in the Halo universe—based on the New York Times bestselling video game series!

Stripped of armor, might, and memory, the legendary Forerunner warrior known as the Didact was torn from the physical world following his destructive confrontation with the Master Chief and sent reeling into the mysterious depths of a seemingly endless desert wasteland. This once powerful and terrifying figure is now a shadow of his former self—gaunt, broken, desiccated, and alone. But this wasteland is not as barren as it seems. A blue light glints from a thin spire in the far distance…

Thus begins the Didact’s great journey—the final fate of one of the galaxy’s most enigmatic and pivotal figures.

I know understand why the halo infinite seemed so empty there was an absolute ton missing from there and this fills in some of those gaps

A gamer past an old prime and a halo fan who has no time to play, I got the chance to listen to this throughout work and I’m so glad that the passion in the lore and the investment is still being put in to keep the universe going, Halos something I can’t stop investing in having grown up playing it, knowing the didacts story and a deeper look at his character gives me more appreciation for Halo 4 and Halo Infinite. The reading was brilliant, captured the essence and tones of the environment brilliantly, I could envision the Audio as a cutscene in my head and truly this can play as several cutscenes in game. I thought the brand maybe losing its touch but as the tittle says, this combined with Infinites Campaign, delivered hope.

Can’t wait for more to come, brilliant book, complimented massively by a brilliant reading

Normally you get a Halo story either with a Spartan, a UNSC military person/group or a human civilian/s but instead this time around, you get a story with the final Boss from the 5th Halo game whom didn't exactly died. I think you would need to be a fan of the games and books/audiobooks to like this one.

As for the narrator, I have heard better and I most certainly heard worse.

Getting the original voice actor of the Didact to do this book has made it an amazing listen. My only downside is I wish it was longer as a good book pulled of flawlessly is rare and far between and I’m sad to be near the end already.
The forerunner series of books are by far my favourite and the best imo
