Summary

You’ve heard of these groups - the secretive ones that only the crème de la crème are invited into, the ones outsiders speculate about for centuries - I’m the second in my family invited to attend, but to them, I’m fresh meat. New blood. New money, too.

They think they’ll elbow past me, that I’m here for their amusement, for them to walk all over, they’ll find out soon enough that I’m not.

I may look like one of them, with my designer bags and clothes straight from the Parisian runways, but I’m not. I’m here for answers, to take revenge for blood spilled on their centuries-old Persian rugs.

I transferred here in search for answers about what happened to my older brother, who hightailed out of here, and my friend who seemingly disappeared into thin air. I certainly wasn’t here for the attention of the star hockey player, regardless of how much he willed my eyes his way. I wasn’t here for his scrutiny or his judgment or to read into his mysterious aura. I was here for the society, because only they held the answers I needed. That was, until I found out that in order to get those answers, I needed to go through him. He’s saying if I want in, I have to play by their rules, follow their lead.

It’s a game I’m willing to play.

I may be the second person I know of to be invited into their society, but I’ll be the first to make it out intact. Half-Truths is a stand-alone novel.

4 stars

I loved the story! Light on the romance but I'll definitely be reading more. Secrets, lies, betrayal. Good stuff! I loved the h and her relationship with her brother. The loss of a star is Logan. He took a bit to warm up to and I really questioned his desire to be with Amelia, especially early on. Not a fan of his actions being one way but his words being another.

Dark and Mysterious

It’s dark. It’s mysterious. It’s addicting. It will consume you. You will have so many questions... Who are the cloaks? What’s with Amelia’s family? Who are her friends? ....and what happened to them? It’s unputdownable... (is that a word??) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️story 🔥🔥heat

Good Story too much vulgarity

AllI can say is this is a great story but I was ready to turn it off every 10 minutes or so because of the vulgar language and then the story would catch my interest again. I sure wish you could write these intriguing books without having all the garbage words in them.

I needed a DO NOT DISTURB sign while listening

The story kept me enthralled! I usually don't like suspense in books because it gives me anxiety I couldn't stop listening! There were so many twists and turns! There was romance that I love but so much more!!

Great Book

I can’t stress how much I loved this book the story started off with a mystery and just continued to build. Logan’s love for Amelia was swoon worthy. Claire Contreras was a new author for me I had never read or listened to any of her books prior to this one but now I am definitely a fan. Great narrations from both narrators they really kept me engaged with the story.

Interesting storyline...

This book indicates its a stand alone which is probably my only complaint. I would have liked to have known more about the characters and where exactly their futures go.

Fast paced and attention grabbing.

Loved the story! Enjoyed all the characters. Stacey Glemboski did an excellent job on narration. The male narrator raises pitchy octaves at the end of each sentence. Why wouldn’t anyone think that’s normal?? I really didn’t like that but he also doesn’t narrate much. He also is just over kill trying to be sexy and it makes me think of a short little man with Napoleon syndrome trying to be intimidating. Book was full or twists, and quite a bit of romance. I enjoyed even though I realize it’s a little unlikely to have a man ever be this smitten.
