I’m missing out on my life. What’s wrong with me? If that’s ever crossed your mind, and if you know there’s more to life than what you’ve been living, this audiobook is for you. It sucks to acknowledge that you are what’s keeping you from the life you want. You sacrifice what you want most for what you want in the moment. You know everything you’re supposed to do, and yet you feel stuck - limited by your past, overwhelmed by your future - in a purgatory of your own behavior.

Acuff knows the reason why many writers' novels go unfinished - it's the same reason why gyms are filled in the first week of January and empty by the end of the month and why people stop learning a new language once they get past the easy parts. It's not just that people lose momentum or get distracted. People give up on projects when they fail to live up to their own high expectations and decide that if they can't do something perfectly, they won't do it at all. If you're going to finish, you have to kill perfectionism.

I'm seriously hooked
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes! I want to hear all of Ace McCloud's books in one sitting (so far). Ever since I purchased his first audiobook, I've listened to one EVERY DAY. There's such a variety, and even though I first started listening purely for my job (social media marketing), he has so many other books that appeal to my every day life that I just can't stop listening. I've already bought another book for today that I'm going to listen to while on the treadmill and cleaning the house. I can't think of a better way to spend my Saturday than learning how to improve yet another aspect of my life!

I couldn't pick out any one moment in particular, as I found the whole audiobook to be memorable in its own way.
Have you listened to any of Joshua Mackey’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I have not yet listened to any others!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

A great uplifting guide to creating better habits
I really enjoyed this book! It's well narrated by Joshua Mackey, whose style is enthusiastic and motivating. The book is structured in such a way that it is easy to follow and is packed full of helpful tips on how to break the cycle of negative habit and create new, healthier ones. I particularly liked the way the 100 best habits were broken down into categories, making it easier to set goals for the future.
I'd highly recommend this book to anyone looking to take the first steps towards a better organized, healthier and more successful life.

End Bad Habits and Turn Your Life Around
If you could sum up Habit: The Top 100 Best Habits in three words, what would they be?
Intriguing. Useful. Practical.
What other book might you compare Habit: The Top 100 Best Habits to, and why?
I've never listened to another book quite like Habit. The topic is not one I would have been really interested in had I not listened to another book by the same writer. But as it turns out, habits - good and bad - are actually the key way of living a better and more satisfying and productive lifestyle.
Have you listened to any of Joshua Mackey’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I have listened to a number of Joshua Mackey's performances and he always hits the spot. Once again, his narration is exactly what you want from such a book and it is difficult not to be enthused by the subject.
Any additional comments?
I was impressed how the book covered such a wide range of strategies and techniques. They range from eating habits to forming good habits that can enable your relationships to be more successful. All of these add up to daily routines that can dramatically improve your way of life.

Excellent resource to snowball change in your life
Where does Habit: The Top 100 Best Habits rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Pretty highly! It's clear, concise and covers acres of ground. Useful to anyone struggling to change aspects of their life by either establishing good (life affirming) habits or breaking bad (life diminishing) ones. Full of pertinent advice about how to alter habits to your best advantage.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Habit: The Top 100 Best Habits?
I was very taken with the idea that there are keystone habits, which if we change, have a domino effect in bringing many positive changes into our lives; habits, such as exercise, self-discipline and learning.
What does Joshua Mackey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
His excellent motivational way of speaking and animating the message.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes... I was excited and motivated by the section that looked at habits related to home and health. Partly because I already have some of the lovely habits suggested, and partly because I wanted to embrace the ones that I haven't already established.
Any additional comments?
A really helpful book, jam-packed with all kinds of habit forming suggestions, but for me the best bits were the lists of great habits that benefit the different areas of life. Wonderful stuff!

I haven't read the print version, but I enjoyed this version so much I may well get it to check to see if there was anything I missed!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Not really appplicable as a non fiction title, but as always Josh makes it very interesting to listen to.
Have you listened to any of Joshua Mackey’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I am rapidly becoming a bit of a Joshua Mackey fan - he speaks clearly and is easy to follow as he narrates
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was intrigued and it helped me to really work out why so many attempts I had made to build some good habits hadn't gone so well. I am going to get busy putting some of these tips into practice straight away.
Any additional comments?

Worth the purchase.
Any additional comments?
This book is full approaches on how to create good habits and break bad ones. Even if only a few resonate and motivate an adjustment to one's behavior I see that as well worth the cost of this book. The narration is clear and upbeat and helps set the proper mindset. However, I would not recommend this book for someone looking for step by step actions to achieve their goals. This book seem more like a reminder or a friend who helps point you in the right direction and in some cases inspires you to think/approach things differently.

Make it a Habit...
...to re-listen to this "100 Best Habits" book periodically. It is one of the most powerful positive motivators out there. I don't know about you, but I need my habits to be affirmed; I need to be reminded that my habits are worth keeping (good habits, that is). I forget, that like the rest of humanity, I function best with a modicum of structure in my life.
I like that the book also includes practical helps to break unhelpful (bad) habits. You may chuckle, but I especially appreciated the practical reminders: "Remember to Breathe Deeply" and "Avoid Gossip."

Take the first step to making better habits today!
Right from the start this book sucks you in and makes you want to keep listening. The narrator explains everything in a thorough and also entertaining manner that makes it quick and easy to listen to. The tips and advice offered are easy to understand, implement, and work with so you can start to make a change right away. I was challenged and also encouraged by what McCloud had to say and I plan to start implementing these points right away. You have little to lose and so much to gain so give it a try and discover the difference it can make in your life!

Making Positive Habits Permanent
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I absolutely would. Maintaining good habits and breaking poor ones is a vicious cycle and my reading of this book could not have come at a better time. The start of the year is a good time to make resolutions, but resolutions aren't as lasting as setting a foundation of good habits. This book offers easy tweaks to your day-to-day life which make a huge difference.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the flow and how the author was able to link everything back together. As I mentioned, breaking bad habits and creating good ones can be a vicious "chicken and egg" cycle. It's important to do both to live a healthy life.
Which scene was your favorite?
I enjoyed the whole book but I loved the introduction. It sucked me right into the book. I almost forgot that it was going to be an informative book based on how entertaining it was.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
Setting a schedule for a habit. I'm trying to swap out coffee for green tea. By starting each day with a glass of green tea, I'm developing a healthy habit.
