About this listen

The knight charging to her rescue is the last person in the world she wants to see. Now she owes him, and he’s ready to collect.

When I spot Serena Lambert in danger, I don’t think twice—I jump in to help. It’s only after that I realize what I’ve done: I’ve played the knight in shining armor for the woman who probably hates my guts more than anyone else on the planet. Serena, the Blizzard’s PR director and the bane of my existence, looks just as shocked as I feel. Guess she thought she was finally rid of me. But bad pennies? We always turn up.

Being an NHL goalie has its perks, and trust me, I’ve taken full advantage of every single one. But when I end up becoming the league’s most infamous netminder, all those perks disappear, along with my spot on the roster. I want back in, and for that, I need Serena’s PR magic. Sure, she’s prickly as hell, but I can deal with that. She’s already had to clean up my tabloid messes before. Plus, let’s be honest, she’s not exactly hard on the eyes.

Serena’s laser-focused on her career, trying to cement her place on the team while dealing with a backstabbing coworker. Helping me is the last thing she needs, but there’s something undeniable between us, something that goes beyond my usual charm. The more time I spend with her, the more I find myself wanting to dig deeper, to figure out what makes her tick.Yeah, we’re like oil and water. We might not mix, but maybe, just maybe, we can find a way to blend. And if we do, who knows? We might just score our happily-ever-after.

When you need a knight in shining armour there’s no better than a hunky hockey player. This is a lovely book with yummy sounding narrators!!

Amazing triple dual narration from Gideon Frost, Addison Barnes and Zachary Johnson. So brilliant.

Wyatt is or was a goalie for a hockey team. But because of past behaviours or shenanigans have made him untouchable.
Serena is a PR Rep for a hockey team that Wyatt wants to come back to. She takes her PR skills and job very seriously. Serena has a very low opinion of Wyatt. When Serena finds herself in a bit of trouble one night, the one person who came to her rescue, is Wyatt.
Wyatt is totally about himself and his inflated ego. Even with past he believes that everyone owes him. He is battling his way back to playing hockey. He knows he must keep a clean persona. It is Serena that Wyatt turns to find out why his old team hate him and to gets her to come to a family wedding. He has to fight and battle a truly horrible mother, Serena is fighting her own battles with a nasty assistant, a belittling boss, and the must nasty bosses son.
These two are brilliant and soooo sexy.

Great characters, plot, angst, drama and heat.

Loved this book.

Wyatt was an ass in one of the previous books in the series but managed to redeem himself. As the story goes on you can see why he acted the way he did. Poor Serena has to sort any bad situation that the team comes across. Highly recommend! I love a good redemption story. Narration is perfect too.

Guarding the Crease can be read as a stand alone, and it may actually be better as a stand alone because Wyatt Tompkins is not romance hero material in the earlier books in the series. He's not exactly romance hero material at the beginning of this book either. G.K. Brady does a great job of bringing out some redeeming qualities and showing the personal growth throughout the book. I'm still someone who likes to read series in order and there are other characters from previous books that appear in this one, so I don't regret reading the series in order. I never would have guessed that Wyatt would get his own book based on previous appearances, so this book started with a surprise for me.

I also sure that listening to the audio version made the story better. It was narrated by three voice actors: Gideon Frost, Zachary Johnson and Addison Barnes. It was what I would have called duet style if there had just been two narrators, so maybe it would be called multi-cast? The male character voices were always spoken by the male narrators and the female parts by female. The audio version was easy to listen to.

I received a copy of the audiobook at my request, and the opinions here are my own.

Yummy hockey romance! Plenty of spice and a decent amount of angst and intrigue. All's well that ends well and I'm giddy over the {unexpected} ending. Loved the duet narration. I thought the narrators' voices were perfectly cast.

Cute and hot hockey story
