Summary

If you’re looking for a nice way to keep your children entertained while travelling, then Grumpy Grandad’s Crazy Vacation could be just the audio story you need.

Children love spending time at their grandparent’s house, often because grandparents have more time on their hands to have fun. Children also enjoy listening to the silly stories that grandparents often like to tell. Grumpy Grandad’s Crazy Vacation is a brilliantly funny kids story authored and narrated by Ann Twigg.

It was inspired by events that happened while travelling abroad. As Grumpy Grandad prepares to board the plane to go on vacation, things don’t quite go to plan, and the relaxing holiday that Crazy Grandma had hoped for is scuppered when Grumpy Grandad’s grumbling causes chaos at the airport.

This audiobook is brilliantly narrated and will make your child relax and laugh during their journey on holiday.

As well as being the perfect travel companion, audiobooks also provide an excellent way of entertaining children and keeping their minds busy with imagination.

Really good for a long car journey

My 3 year old daughter loves the series about Grumpy Grandad. This one is quite long, so particularly good for journeys. The narration is slow and descriptive, and so easy for little ones to follow

Grumpy Grandad is off on his holidays!

Grumpy Grandad and Crazy Grandma are off on their holiday to Spain but do you think Grandad will take a break from grumbling? He has snow, a broken suitcase, airport trolleys and an angry passenger to deal with before he even gets there, poor Grandma! A funny story for young children, let's see if Grandma gets to have a well deserved rest!

We love Grumpy Grandad

Another funny story with a great character in Grumpy Grandad. My little girl loves listening to what Grumpy Grandad has done now and this is another great listen. Lots of funny parts that made my little girl laugh out loud. This is one of our favourites from the Grumpy Grandad series so far. Listened to on 1.5x speed. If you have listened to and enjoyed other Grumpy Grandad stories then you will love this. This one is a little longer than some of the others so we listened in two sittings. The story kept my little girl's (age 6) interest throughout. Thumbs up from us.

This story summarises the difficulties with travelling..... & being grumpy!

On previous holidays I've often thought that my few negative experiences could be written in a book, well this story certainly does this! It reminds us that travelling isn't always easy but it's usually worth it when you arrive. Based on this narrative I'm not sure that Grumpy Grandad would agree. It isn't necessarily an optimistic story but my children still found it entertaining. This story might not suit young anxious travellers but confident kids will find the challenges that Grumpy Grandad faces amusing.

It could be enjoyed any time of day by children up to 10years of age. It's read with a soothing tone and would certainly improve anyone's travelling experiences and make them feel more appreciative of their holiday. At least Crazy Grandma eventually managed to enjoy some peace and quiet, and even Grumpy Grandad might have transformed from his retreat!?!
