Long slow stuff

What would have made Great Classic Ghost Stories better?

A better narrator and shorter livelier stories. Most of them drag on without much in the way of thrills and suspense.

How could the performance have been better?

A more sensitive voice responding like an actor would to the ups and downs of the text. It is a bit monotonous on top of the long and slow moving narratives.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Yeah, a few of the stories (there are so many of them) stand out as gripping. Most don't with the obvious exceptions of a few classic tales by M. R. James and the like.
r.

Any additional comments?

Anthologies should concentrate on strong stories and not just rely on the genre branding on the assumption that this will please listeners.

different narrator needed

Stories were good, but a lot of the time couldn't hear them. Different narrator would be better

Cute! I would purchase further volumes

If you could sum up Great Classic Ghost Stories in three words, what would they be?

fun, entertaining, road trip worthy

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

There were a lot of cute spooky stories. You're probably not going to walk away from this read suffering from nightmares or actually scared but I thought it was a fun spooky narrative for a road trip. I would buy other volumes.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Brings you back to campfires and smores. A fun, nostalgic narrative.

Any additional comments?

very cute, I would repurchase this or future volumes.

Boo

Not my taste in narrators ...if you truly want fantastic ghost stories look to YouTube-horror and find Peter Yearsly reading M.R. James....the gold standard in narration
