Summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of science fiction and paranormal romance brings another action, adventure, and suspense-filled story to transport listeners out of this world. Gracie Jones was little more than a child when Earth was invaded by an alien species. Escaping into the subway tunnels of New York City, she hid in fear of being captured. Discovered by four men who became her protectors, she fought alongside them, and they became known as the Freedom Five. At 17, she made a decision that turned the tide in the war between Earth and the Alluthans, but in exchange, she gave up all that she knew. Kordon Jefe is a Zion Warrior and the commanding officer in charge of the Confederation of Planets' military. When an unknown species begins attacking some of their outer settlements, he is assigned to discover who they are and stop them - at any cost. Gracie finds herself stranded millions of light years and hundreds of years in the future in a distant galaxy on an undeveloped moon. When an old enemy threatens once more, she does not hesitate to use her knowledge to try to stop them once again. Only this time, it is not just Earth she will be saving, but the Confederation itself. When their two worlds are thrown together, Kordon is unsure what to do with the strange, delicate creature who fights and behaves unlike anyone he has ever encountered before. One thing he does know - he plans to keep her.

Improbably perfect heroine but still enjoyable

If you can suspend disbelief enough to accept that Gracie is a linguistic and coding genius, who is responsible for every single significant development and victory in the battle against invading aliens, as well as being a survival expert and instantly beloved by everyone she meets, this is an enjoyable and light read. If not, you'll spend the entire book going 'Seriously!?'

Despite the, frankly, ludicrous plot, Gracie's touch is written with enough humour and warmth that you don't instantly hate Gracie and her (extremely fast) relationship with Kordon is actually rather sweet. He's very stern and strong with everyone else, but she definitely wears the trousers when they're not in the bedroom. Despite the fact that he doesn't really do anything, except rescue Gracie after she saves everyone else, wait for her to wake up after being injured, worry and have sex (a lot), Kordon doesn't come across as a wimp, which is quite an impressive achievement!

The narration is generally good, but having the sex scenes read aloud made me wince a bit. Despite all it's flaws, I like this book, but it's not as good as Krac's story, which is the next in the series.

Garcie's Touch

This first book in the Zion Warriors was full of of action, the romance was good too. Gracie was well created and she did carry the story very wel, I thought that the action was well balanced and rolled along very nicely can't wait to read the next book

An interesting story

I wasn't exactly sure when I started this if I was going to like it as I hadn't read the book. The beginning sets the scene which was well done. The male voice did the female characters brilliantly and they all sounded different as did the men. the men also had the amazing deepness that is great to listen to. Loved the meeting and how they got together. The reactions to the news was written and said very well. I enjoyed it immensely.

I love SE Smith books!

And this is no different. Sci-fi Romance at its best - unique worlds to immerse yourself in, characters you can get behind, plots that keep you surgically attached to the book. Happy Sigh!

Bk 2 pls *cheesy happy grin*

Excellent Storyline

If you could sum up Gracie's Touch in three words, what would they be?

Compelling, Addictive, Enjoyable

What was one of the most memorable moments of Gracie's Touch?

When she sets out to upload the virus into the alien craft and she's saying goodbye to eveyone.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

When she's crash landed on the planet and is trying to reach out to someone to hear her. The hope that she feels that she can actually connect to someone is inspiring.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Compelling adventure on how to believe and hold out hope.

Any additional comments?

I loved Gracie's Touch and the storyline that this series followed. S.E. Smith certainly knows how to get you addicted. I've read this story a couple of times and listened to the audio version a few time and can honestly say I love listening to it just as much as I enjoyed reading it.

Gracie definitely touched me

S E Smith has done it again. Another well thought out storyline that grabs you, and makes you want to know what happens next. I like David Brenin as the narrator, especially as he doesn't try to put on accents, but tells the story, with, what I think, is a voice that makes you want to listen for hours. This book didn't appear on the U.K. website right away, but when I got in touch with S E Smith about it, she and her team worked hard to find out what the problem was and rectified it. I really enjoyed listening to this book and am waiting patiently for the next.

Well worth the credit...

I thought this book was great. It is so much more than a wham bam thank you alien man novel. There is drama, action, romance; honestly a really good listen. I had a few minor problems with the story which kept it from five stars. Specifically, and admittedly this is a pet peeve of mine, I found that Gracie was willing to jump into bed just a little too fast for someone who is grieving. I just find it hard to believe that you can switch emotions so easily. I also struggle when writers write sex scenes where someone is talking dirty and says something like...you're going to be so sexy once you're pregnant with my baby. Pregnancy is a lot of things: magical, incredible, awe-inspiring...but sexy??? And this scene, in particular, just really harped on it. I like the "I want you to have my baby" talk better during sweet times, not sexy times. These were really small things, though. Otherwise, this book was so much fun to listen to.

In regards to narration, I cannot say enough good about David Brenin. I've listened to several books he has narrated and he is always amazing. You will truly immerse yourself in the story forgetting someone is reading it to you. He absolutely earns his 5 stars.

GRACIE'S TOUCH ROCKS!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

YES, BECAUSE IF HAS EVERYTHING. LOVE, HOPE, SADNESS, MORE LOVE, MORE HOPE - A LITTLE MORE SADNESS. HAPPY ENDING. LOVED IT!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Gracie’s Touch?

TOO MANY TO PICK JUST ONE. I LOVED HOW SHE KNEW WHAT SHE HAD TO DO AND SHE DID IT. ALWAYS HELPING TO SAVE OTHERS.

Have you listened to any of David Brenin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

YES AND DAVID IS THE BEST! LOVE HIM TO PIECES!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES AND I BASICALLY DID.

Any additional comments?

JUST FOR SUSAN TO CONTINUE WRITING THEM AND DAVID CONTINUE TELLING THEM.

5 Gracie’s Touch Stars

I don’t know what it is about S.E. Smith, but she makes Aliens freaking awesome!

I can’t even I love this book, and the world she creates. Gracie is human and she ends up saving earth and a lot of other life forms.

Kordon is a unique Zion Warrior and finds himself feeling some pretty intense things toward this oddly unique human.

And Gracie adapts so well you almost forget she is human, I loved it! I can’t wait to read book 2 <3

And David Brenin’s narration is freaking fantastic he makes listening effortless.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Quite a surprise!

I’ve gotta be honest, if not for the romance package, I never would have chosen this book; for the cost of a credit. After reading the summary, I was very skeptical. The storyline seemed pretty silly. An alien romance is always a tough sell on me. I have listened to a couple that I thought were excellent but, it’s not first, second or third choice of genre. I’m glad I gave this book a chance.

The first part of the book was very touching and even though I hadn’t had a chance to get invested into the characters, yet, I shed more than a few tears. The second section, of the book started the romance and adventure part of the book and I found myself really getting into the story and characters. For some reason, I thought there were more than two books available, from this series, unfortunately that is not the case. I did enjoy the two books that were available and the end of book two set up a story for a next book so I will being keeping an eye our for a continuation of this series.
PS: The narration was awesome !

David Brenin does an excellent job

David Brenin does an excellent job as usual!
Gracie was twelve when the aliens first came to earth to reap it of everything of value including using females as breeders and males for body parts. The Aluthians are described as being part organic material and part cybertronics, so when their organic part where's out the need to replace it with some others beings' parts. Five years later she is part of a rebel group and she knows how to hack anything and also s a whiz at learning languages.
She has a plan to implement a virus into the shields that protect the aliens and make killing them impossible. The only problem is that she has to be inside the mother ship in order to do it. She leaves behind the four other members of her group including the man who she loves. After the virus is working and a self destruct is se, she tries to escape and fly home. But she is caught in the last radius and it somehow propels her into the future over 800 years. She doesn't know this, just that she has lived by herself on an unknown moon for three years.
An unknown alien has been slaughtering men and children in colonies and taking women if breeding age. Kordan is a Xion admiral in the military. They are searching for the culprits when the hear Gracie's call on the radio. And he knows that he must find her just from her voice alone.
This is a nice story about how two different species learn each other's languages in order to communicate. They also must figure out who the bad aliens are and how to kill them.
I enjoyed reading this story as Gracie gets a second chance at love

Okay y'all the Romance Package has it's merits

This is one that would have gotten away if it hadn't been included in the Audible Romance Package. I find that I'll listen over and over to certain books but usually not romance, this package allows me to binge and explore books that were on my "maybe" list. "Gracie's Choice" was one such book. Turns out it was a really good listen. The plot, the plot twist, the couple, and all the syfy was good. I laughed, smiled, empathized, and hoped love would conquer all.
MY ADVICE: Get the Romance Package!!!!! It will be money well spent!

Fun, sad, strength, determination, protective

Gracie Jones was a child when it all began for her. Her world changed and she was determined to make another change. This change for the better. She young, but experienced with coding and languages. These things helped her to make some significant changes for the good of her world.Gracie was strong, determined, a voice in the dark, and special. The was something about her sweet, strong voice that lured one male to seek her out. She because the salvation of a new world after losing her own.

Kordon was the commanding admiral sent to investigate an issue in a outlying sector. He finds that a voice in the dark may hold the answer to questions that he have about the destruction and kidnapping of women from those regions.

There was a chemistry between the two that you could not deny. His determination to claim the small human with the alluring voice. Her need to find something for herself and this time live life. S.E. Smith gave me yet another series to get invested in.

David Brenin did the job that I have come to expect from him. He delivers a fully encompassing narration with diction, feeling, and more. You can easily determine who is speaking. The subtle and varying accents were smooth, clear, and intriguing.

Jordan and Gracie

Action and romance intertwine as S.E. Smith weaves another excellent world build.
Narrator David Brenin is the best in the business, as he brings these characters to life. His nuance and inflection, accents and inate ability of reading gender reactions, put him in a class by himself. Looking forward to more from this pairing.
