Summary

Mario Benedetti was born in Uruguay in 1920. He began publishing novels in his 30s and achieved international renown with the publication of La Tregua in 1960. He has chronicled the history of Montevideo through fiction and nonfiction in more than 40 books.

In Gracias Por el Fuego, Benedetti explores the turbulent period of Uruguay under dictatorship and the enormous strengths and weaknesses of the human character. Benedetti's prose is astonishingly profound, lively, and evocative.

Lo recomiendo

Siempre es un gusto leer (escuchar) a Benedetti. La narración es impecable y la historia es bastante buena.
