About this listen

From Reggie “Fieldy” Arvizu, legendary bassist of nu-metal pioneers KORN, comes Got the Life: a no-holds-barred look at his extreme highs, drug- and-booze-fueled lows, and, finally, redemption through a conversion to Christianity. Got the Life is simultaneously an insider’s look at rock n’ roll superstardom—the good, the bad, and everything in between—and a survivor’s story of a life brought back from the precipice by a new found belief in religious salvation. I think Fieldy is a living example of how you can go from a bad person making Terrible choices in life but instead of burying them chose to accept their faults, apologise, change his attitude and live better for themselves and everyone around them.

Honestly this is such an uplifting story of the man who got me into playing the bass in the first place.

Truly awesome!

Proves there is Hope for all of us!

This book confirmed the general feeling about this man. He is one awful awful awful human being. Even through his rebirth he is still an awful man pretending to be good and his pretentious ness is mind boggling. He said that his wife had to let go of her hurt feelings based on his years of cheating, but he is allowed to feel great as he was forgiven by god and has forgotten about it all. I am sure his wife will live with those scars forever. Listening to him made my blood boil as you can tell as a convert, he is still a controlling and terrible man that just doesnt swear or do drugs anymore.
If you want Korn stories, the first 3/4 of this book is for you. It is still hard to read as Fieldy really is a nasty man, but I love Korn more so stuck with it. The last part is someone that almost comes across as a heretic and still is all about himself. He chooses his own way to worship etc. which yes is great, but jeeze he is two faced. Reap the benefits of God in his life, but do it all on his own terms. His wife has to let go of his domestic abuse and violence, but when he gets clean, he threatens to throw her out because she uses speed. Disgraceful. I think this is like reading about an ex-smoker...The worst kind of smoker if you get my drift. Great for a korn lover. Horrible for a decent person to listen to.

5 stars, but only if you are a korn fan.
