Summary

Codename: Chaos.

Former THIRDS agent turned TIN operative Dexter J. Daley is a legend. Just ask him, he’ll tell you. Chaos isn’t so much a codename as it is Dex’s state of being. As a spy for the Therian Intelligence Network, Dex has spent the last four years bringing down the bad guys. Hell, his middle name is literally Justice. But a new mission brings him face-to-face with a different kind of monster, one with a weapon that can alter the course of history. Failure is not an option, but as the mission goes from dangerous to deadly, Dex finds himself up against a far more terrifying force, and this time, there’s no escape.

Codename: Atlas.

As former team leader for Destructive Delta and now a TIN operative, Sloane Daley knows what it feels like to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. But no matter the challenge, Sloane knows that together, he and his husband, Dex, can overcome anything. When their latest mission takes a personal turn, Sloane is forced to confront the very thing that created him. Looking back to a past he thought he’d left behind is the least of Sloane’s problems, because the greatest threat he’s about to encounter...is his own husband.

Brilliant!

Gary Furlong does an amazing job of bringing the audience into Dex & Sloane's new, grittier reality as TIN agents. Love the story & performance. Can't wait for more in the series!

Just as good as Thirds

I loved the Thirds books and it appears the TIN books will be equally as fantastic. Great to be back with Dex and Sloane. Highly recommended.

This is the best!

Wow, there isn’t enough words to describe this book!! Exciting, suspenseful, entertaining, funny, steamy, sweet and perfect!!!! Charlie Cochet has done a great job with this book! I’m so happy to have Dex and Sloane back and both better that before!

Now Dex and Sloane are part of TIN and they are going to more dangerous missions, but they are fighting for make things better and fight the bad guys . Form the very beginning we get amazing action scenes and we are introduced to new characters that are going to be part of this new series, we get a little of Dex and his shenanigans for the start!
The new mission Dex and Sloane accept it’s going to be a hard one, they need to be ready for what is coming and the consequences. I love that their love is more stronger, the bond between Dex and Sloane is amazing, they have a great relationship and support each other in the good and bad moments. Their family and friends are also part of this book and I love watching them together once more! This book will get you on edge, so many unknowns and risks, the suspense and action are a great part of the book but the little moments between Dex and Sloane are swoomy and steamy!!! These two have the best chemistry!!! Gary Furlong did an amazing job narrating this book! I love it!

New TIN series

This is not the old former THIRDS agent, clueless, socially irritable, and utterly charming Dexter J Daley. The THIRDS series ends with Dexter (a human) and Slone (a Therian) get married after many trials and misadventures in the THIRDS series. Now Dexter and Slone are part of TIN the new agency and name for this new series. What makes this series different is Dexter has changed but does not know it at first. He is still outwardly human but a new secrete part of him reviles a new super Therian subconscious self that reveals itself in this book’s climatic ending. Is this new subconscious self-going to be Dexter’s friend or foe? Will he be the Mr. Hide to Dexter’s Dr. Jekyll? Will this darker id subconscious self-spoil Dexter’s innocence and charm for the reader/listener? Finally what will this change do to Dexter’s and Slone’s marriage? Time and the new TIN series books will tell. Personally I am not sure I am ready for this new change in Dexter. If he is no longer totally human can I still identify with this character? If he is a super Therian how will that impact regular Therians, Slone, and Dexter’s human father.

Finally 🤩🤩🤩🤩

I’ve been waiting for this for the longest time ever!!!!
Let’s start with the story line.. perfect as expected from mrs Charlie 🙇🏽‍♀️
Dex is crazy as always and funny.. the story line was so interesting and I always wanted to see what happened to this crazy dúo!
My only problem with this one.. the narrator.. he wasn’t bad he was actually pretty good.. my problem was that I got used to the previous one.. his voice was so perfect for dex that I didn’t know what was the problem while I listened to this one, I thought that I’m listening to a different couple and a different story.. but besides that I’m very happy that there’s a sequel to the thirds and looking forward to the next one!!!!!

Character Voices Too Different 🫣😥

While I love Gary Furlong, I liked how Mark Westfield distinguished each of the different characters as he narrated the THIRDS series. The change of narrator almost ruined this amazing story for me. If you have characters that overlap from one series to the next, it can throw the listener off if suddenly the voice of said characters are incredibly different. Can Mark Westfield please narrate the next book in the TIN series???

So Happy the Adventures Are Not Over

I absolutely love Charlie Cochet's created worlds.
I am excited about new changes in Dex. Hope to see Sloane increase as well. The bond between Dex and Sloane is reciprocal.
Very excited about this new series and I appreciate the audio book component. I never have to put my book down.

Great start to this spin-off

I had forgotten how much I missed these guys. I actually miss the entire crew from the Thirds series. So, is it a shock that Dex's code name is Chaos? It is perfect because wherever he goes, chaos ensues. We start off with our boys on a mission w/new TIN character. Even though Dex can't do anything by normal means, he does get the job done. I love all the silly code names that he gives the others. We are then thrown into a serious heartbreaking mission. It is so much darker, IMO, then any of the other stories. We have a kidnapped Therian who is slated to be auctioned off to the highest bidder by an evil POS who also got his hands on the melanoe virus. He has invited a select few of very rich evil people & their "pets" to the auction yes, their "pets" are "domesticated" Therians. Our boys go undercover & how the Therian's are treated made my blood boil. There is Therian trafficking, knowledge of rape (not on page), abuse & possible pedophilia going on amongst this group. What our boys went through really put them to the test, but their bond as mates helped keep them strong. There are things that come to light that I can't wait to see how the author explores in more detail & see how far that is going to go. I have to say that this did keep me on the edge of my seat & up way too late reading because I couldn't put it down. Even though the Thirds are not part of their team any longer, some old faces do pop up. I can't wait for the next book.

Now to wait for more….

I cannot believe how good this was!!! I admit that I was a bit nervous about this new spin off series…I absolutely loved the THIRDS and especially Dex and Sloane but could they really carry another series?!?!? Heck yeah they can!!! I’m interested in getting to know the new characters introduced and hopefully we get more updates from Destructive Delta in the comjng books!
I was really disappointed when I heard a different narrator was being brought in but Gary did a pretty good job taking over. I wish the voices for Dex and Sloane were a bit more distinct, there were a few times when I couldn’t tell who was supposed to be talking but otherwise Gary did great.

reminds me of what I originally loved about THIRDS

Audio: 4.25⭐️

A nice return to form, "Gone" has the elements I loved from the beginning of the first series without the overdose of way too many and too OTT action set pieces and saccharine declarations that drowned the latter entries. The guys are still sappy and the action still Bond-level suspension of disbelief (including an almost mustache-twirlingly evil SPECTRE-esque villain), but it's back to being sweet, fitting and fun. I also think Gary Furlong does a great job picking up the mantle of taking over narrating characters voiced by someone else in like a dozen books.

Dex (with the perfect call sign of Chaos) is in his element as a TIN operative. Dex was a great cop and THIRDS agent, but his penchant for breaking protocol to get the job done created blow-back for his team. With less procedure and rules to follow, he isn't as much as an administrative handicap; for better or worse, it also caters more to Dex's darker/more vigilante justice tendencies. Sloan is his solid, supportive self; carrying his duties and responsibilities on his large shoulders with deceptive ease and grace.

The premise of the story is interesting and does a great job of showcasing Sloan and Dex's strengths as intelligence operatives and the differences and similarities it has from working at the THIRDS. The introduction of the handful of new characters added to the Daley extended family is done well as even though they don't have a lot of page time, their personalities and easy dynamic with everyone feels organic. However, for those familiar with the THIRDS series, some of the reintroduction of well-established facts/feelings (especially after another 4 years have passed) can come across a bit clunky.

Although the balls to the walls action and sci-fi level of techno wizardry is still present, the story feels grounded in a way the previous series started to lack after Dex's mutation came into play; tbf, I may just be used to Dex's abilities by now. The stakes and science are reminiscent to the first book in this universe Hell & High Water, which made it easier to buy into where the story ends up (even if I do have to shake my head and just go along w/Dex's increasing powers ups like I'm watching DBZ).

"Gone" is Dex and Sloan's classic blend of high octane action and gooey goodness that manages to raise the stakes and create obstacles and character growth for a well-established couple in a fast paced but still heartfelt narrative without falling into some of the excesses that weighted down THIRDS towards the end. Overall, Furlong does a good job, but a lot of the "larger Therian" voices were a bit too similar and hard to differentiate who was speaking at times when there is a few of them together. However, Furlong's attention to language pronunciation and solid accent chops make him a great choice for "Gone".

Exciting story

Loved the fast pace telling of another adventure. It was also nice that all the other characters I love to make an appearance in the story.

Action, fun, awesome!

There’s something about reading a spin-off series that is just comforting. You already know and love the characters and have a feel for the writing style. This new TIN series is familiar, but with a new, fresh, exciting plot! Dex and Sloan are the main focus, and it’s been 4 years that they’ve been married. They’ve been running ops for TIN this whole time, but are about to be pushed to their limits, personally and professionally. Incredible story, great narration!
