Summary

Life's tough as an Elf girl stranded in Earth's realm.

When a jaguar shifter drops in out of nowhere and asks for help in tracking down an ancient blood-magic statuette, I say no thank you. I learned a long time ago the key to survival is keeping a low profile. But it's hard to ignore an artifact of the gods powerful enough to blow holes in reality.

Enter stalker werewolves in a black Mercedes and magicians trying to capture me. They all think I know where the damned statue is. Then I'm attacked by demons.

It wouldn't be so bad, but some of them are really rude. Being rude is a capital crime where I come from.

Time for a lesson in manners.

Contains mature themes.

Enjoyable

Enjoyable story, a little different from the normal Urban fantasy. The narrator was good and although her Irish accent kept coming and going she did keep the same accent consistently. I'm not sure what part of Ireland the accent was supposed to be from, the nearest I could equate it to would be a posh Dublin but at least it wasn't the usual "begorrah, top o the mornin to ya" Darby O'Gill accents that are usually used.
In summary, I enjoyed the book and will buy the next in series.

Give me more Elves!

This was a complete surprise to me. I picked this up, with a few others on a day when I needed something new and I think the cover is what got my attention. I don't recall ever hearing anything about this book or author. The last few days, I was in a slump of trying new series by new to me authors and one not new to me, and was completely disappointed and put them down. I started Gods and Demons yesterday afternoon, with no idea what I was getting into. I was completely pulled into the story. I love Kellana! This is exactly the kind of character I wanted to read about. She's smart, witty, and confident, with out being full of herself. I really look forward to more of Kellana and the other characters. I really liked how the story progressed and how it wrapped up. I had one problem with the story. I had a hard time keeping track of all the names, but that was me and I was listening. The Audio was great. I really liked the flow and pace of the narrator. Rachel Dulude did a good job keeping me interested and I liked the accent of Kellana. One minor flaw in the Audio, not the narration. Chapter 27 02:28 with 23 mins left in the story some weird noise happens and I had my headphones in and WOW that hurt. It lasted maybe a minute or so, so not much info was lost. I was hoping it was something with my download on my Ipod but I downloaded it onto my android phone and checked. The really loud noise is still there in the same spots. So other then that Please check this out. I will be getting then next in the series Dragon's Egg!

Good Start,

I'm not as impressed as other reviewers, I didn't find the book so exciting I couldn't put it down, but it was exciting enough, interesting enough that I will give the 2nd book in the series a try.

Yikes

This book is low key racist and I’m pretty shook that it got published. Big yikes, big pass.

exciting fun search for an artifact!!

Loved the book. if you hate teenage levels of angst and self doubt you will certainly enjoy this novel. the narrator is easy on the ears. The only thing I would complain about is the lack of creative detail in some scenes like what the justice building looks like.

Very pleasantly surprised!

What a breath of fresh air! I loved the story, the MC, the supporting characters and the narrator. The book was clean & wholesome. A big change for me in this genre. It seems that so many authors just want to increase their word count by constantly throwing in unnecessary swear words! Go BR! A fun adventure based on imagination & good writing.

Strong Female Leads

Never heard of the author. Book was on the recommended list, I listened to the preview...I was intrigued, so I downloaded.

I enjoyed every bit of it. It was surprisingly unapologetic about creating a world view where females are as nature designed - strong, hunters, protectors & nurturers.

Honestly, it was a bit primal. Nothing at all silly and immature. The tone is practical...no nonsense. Adult.

There is violence and adult themes, but nothing over-the-top or intolerable.

There is the "whiff" of attraction and appreciation of a male side character. But the story is not centered around a male. (gasp). Instead of shallow relationships, every character 'holds their own,' and work in collaboration.

Epic.

I've just purchased the sequel.

** I personally LOVE the Irish accent. I wish the narrator could do Spanish accent and a cool sounding accent for "Elvish" but she's only human after all!! 😂

Good

The thing I actually liked about this book is the heroine has no qualms about killing the bad guys I hate books where they just let them go or think the stupid justice system does anything to bad guys what I didn’t like is I thought it was going to be a fantasy romance but there is no romance just action oh well it was still good action
