"You will be the father of kings...."

A prophecy to a 16-year-old blacksmith’s son sends Trygare kan Ingan from his home in the Cymenean glyns, armed only with his father’s sword.

Being Godchosen isn’t easy. The woman he wants doesn’t want him, the man who should be his best friend thinks him laughable, and everyone ridicules his youth, to say nothing of his glyndweller accent.

Slaying a dragon and defending the country from invaders changes their minds, and things are going nicely, but then the gods interfere...

Tragedy strikes, sending Trygare to a foreign land where his true destiny lies...to become the ancestor of a dynasty that will rule his planet for three thousand years.

Combine Conan the Barbarian with Skyrim, add a dash of Game of Thrones, and the result will be this epic chronicle of the kan Ingan empire. Grab your copy today!

I found the opening chapter a little difficult to stay interested in, but I am glad I stayed with it as it soon picked up and held my interest. well worth the listen.

an unexpected delight

A wonderfully portrayed story of a rise through the ranks with fortunes and misfortunes told, and how the threads of fate are so casually treated by the Gods.
This was a emotional rollarcoaster and very well written but looks to be but a footnote of how the future may be woven into a much larger tapestry of action, destiny and page turning interest. Without any spoilers i can only attest to a keen interest in more of this series and a impatience for it to hurry up.
I requested this audio and have decided to leave my thoughts.

This might be a good book, I honestly don't know as I couldn't get past the narrator's terrible attempts at a Scottish accent and colloquialisms. I'm Scottish and listening to the mashup of Irish/Scottish and Eastern European was like nails on a chalkboard. Attempts to say the colloquialism for Father as Fader rather than Fayther was particularly grating.
avoid the audio book if like me you are sensitive to that kind of thing.
