Summary

A captivating first-person look at one of the world's most powerful prosperity dynasties that offers a unique perspective on greed, the Church, and the journey toward Truth.

Millions desperate for hope and solutions are enticed by the promise of the prosperity gospel - that God will do whatever they need with just a little faith and a financial gift. All the while, prosperity preachers exploit the poor and the needy to stockpile their riches. What can followers of the true gospel do to combat the deception?

Through a remarkable and fascinating journey, Costi Hinn went from a next-generation prosperity preacher to the first to abandon the family faith and share the true gospel. Nephew of the world-famous televangelist Benny Hinn, Costi had a front-row seat to the inner workings and theology of the prosperity gospel. But as Costi's faith deepened, so did his questions about prosperity teaching. As the deceptions in his past were exposed, Costi came face-to-face with the hypocrisy and devastation caused by his belief system and the overwhelming truth about the real Jesus Christ.

This captivating look into the daily lives of one of the world's leading prosperity dynasties offers a thoughtful perspective on the perils of greed, the power of the true gospel, and hope for the future of the global church. Through real-life stories, Costi challenges and equips listeners to be living lights pointing the way to the true gospel and the saving grace of Christ. God, Greed, and the (Prosperity) Gospel will bolster your faith and encourage your own journey toward the truth.

Honest appraisal of the prosperity gospel

Great book that combines scripture and behind the scenes experience of the evil prosperity gospel. Benny Hinn is a false prophet and as chrisitans we should be careful what and who we believe.

Brutally honest!

The book is a well fit for an audible listen. Interestingly, the narrator almost sounds like the author himself. It's a good listen, and flows easily. I completed it in 'one sitting'.

Costi gives detailed accounts of his involvement with his Uncle Benny, describing the major ones that eventually led him to ponder on the lavish lifestyle, the Mumbai Vs UAE and Greece experience

And concludes the last chapters with how he eventually got to know the truth, highlighting personal accounts of the challenges he faced along the way.

It's thought provoking and will drive you to your Bible afterwards.

Authenticity: He Paid A High Price To Speak Truth

Costi Hinn's book is simply beautiful. He is honest while humble. He is a true picture of what it means to forsake all for the Gospel. He brings credibility to a needed discussion in Christianity, and clarity on exactly what truly is the Gospel. He paid a high price to speak the truth.

Christ Honoring Testimony by Costi

If you want to understand what makes the Health & Wealth movement tick, this book will provide an accurate look inside some of the worst offenders. At the same time Costi has been cautious not to lump all Pentecostals and Charismatics together and label them all full blown heretics. He does however not shy away from examining the skewed presuppositions, hermeneutics, and serious lack of theological understanding that is pervasive within Prosperity Preaching churches and parachurch ministries. I believe Costi has rightly communicated that there is a spectrum within the broader movement. This book is straight forward in its examination of the false teaching and hypocrisy of Prosperity Preachers. It is also a clear clairion call to the true gospel of Jesus Christ in all of its majesty, beauty, and glory. The gospel that gives true freedom and prosperity of soul.

This explains why I don’t like church.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Costi Hinn’s story about his experience with the prosperity gospel opened my eyes to what I have felt for many years. I now understand what I thought I believed about the big name televangelists and many local preachers I have encountered during my Christian journey. I’m encouraged to venture back into church but, I am going in with open eyes and an open heart. Thank you Costi. I now think it’s possible for me to enjoy church and the Christian life again.

My eyes were certainly opened

This story touched me personally. For years my family members have bought into the prosperity gospel. My grandma used to send THOUSANDS of dollars to Benny Hinn’s ministry.
I can relate so much to Costi’s wife when she said she felt evil when she was “slain in the spirit”. I always felt like there was something wrong with me because I couldn’t speak in tongues for fall down on command when people around me were dropping like flies.

Thank you Costi for sharing your story. My heart breaks for those that are still being deceived. The God of the Bible looks nothing like the god preached in prosperity churches. The new up & comings are those like Mike Todd. He’s so charismatic, he’s so fun and in someways he’s just relatable enough. But every time I hear him speak there is a check in my spirit. Something is just off with this guy. Then I recently listened to an interview where the interviewer was bragging about how Mike Todd wore Yeezy‘s and thousand dollar shirts. That’s when it clicked. It made my stomach turn.
