Summary

I’m the only Dixon brother to step up when our family crumbled.
When I took over the ranch, I lost everything, career included.
My heart hadn’t been in it anyway. It couldn’t. A girl stole it a dozen years ago when she left, dreaming of a world outside our small town.

Now she’s back.
Different hair. New style. Kid clutching her hand.
Wrecked by the man who put the ring on her finger.

Not a trace of the Madison Black I knew.
A downhome girl with the sweetest smile and drawl.
The little rebel who would sneak out to my truck in the middle of the night.

But with one conversation, that girl starts to reappear.
One kiss, the years apart fade away.
One night, I vow to never let her go again.

Except she’s not mine to keep, and the glaring reminder why just arrived in town.

Chose the wrong girl....

I was rooting for the underdog- Izzy. That would’ve made a better story. Overcoming their pasts and learning to love again.

Least Favorite in the Series

*SPOILERS* I really love this series, but this book is definitely my least favorite. I was rooting for Izzy the whole book and I was so sad that he didn’t pick her. I don’t like how Madison pretty much broke his heart, and as soon as he’s like getting over her after 10 year and started moving on she comes back in just ruins everything all over again LOL. Izzy and Hunter had helped each other so much throughout that time that it would’ve been a way better story has them too ended up together. I hope the author writes a love story for Izzy. I need to hear it.

I wanted to...

Somehow in this story I was rooting for Izzy. I loved the first two books. This one...not so much. I am a sucker for love, it just landed on the wrong side for me this time.

Not my favorite book of this series

I had a hard time following the narration of Madison and Issy. I agree with one reviewer that thought it would have been better with two different female narrators.

I’m not sure why but this one didn’t catch my attention as well as the others.

PAINFUL, PASSIONATE, RAW & I COULDN’T LOOK AWAY

I know there’s been some negative reviews but for me this totally addictive broken love story was a gripping and well-written journey of moving forward and looking back through past events to reveal the shocking secret that would eventually shatter so many lives. I’ll be honest, I had to drip-feed myself some of the chapters at times early on because there was so much soul-crushing pain and heartache. Hunter had finally moved on and fallen in love again after thirteen years of false-hope yearning for a lost love.. but it was at the worst possible time.. because his soulmate Madison had finally come back to town. A gut-wrenching blow that would force decisions, break hearts and eventually unearth the truth that would decimate lives. Because Madison came with a lot of baggage, some tentative hopes, shocking truths she never wanted to reveal, decades of unfulfilled dreams and undying love still in her heart for just one man.. but she wasn’t alone.

There’s so much passion along with the pain.. so many heartwarming emotions along with the heartbreak.. so many sweet sincere sentiments along with the stained memories.. and so many tears along with the blow of the decade-old truth. Sex, angst drama, conflicts, family, friends and so much more are in this addictive broken soulmates love story and the feels just didn’t quit. Great narration by JC of course as he skilfully changes his pitch and tone and smoothly brings the cast of characters to life and delivers his usual swoonworthy sultry voice for the hero (..love you Jason). Erin was great too as always.

Worth a credit? I’ve already listened to book 1 (which was great), just downloaded book 2 (how did I miss it) and I definitely think this book is worthy five ⭐️ listen.. so Yes, IMO, it’s very creditworthy.

So lame.

The plot twist/secret was ridiculous!! Plus Erin Mallon made no distinction between the two main female characters. The love triangle was also just pathetically drawn out and unsatisfying. So disappointed in all characters except Savannah

Awful Female Narrator

This story was so drawn out and the main female character was such a martyr, I could barely finish this. The lead male narrator was the only thing that made the story tolerable. Don’t waste a credit.

Horrible!! *spoilers*

I am so disappointed with this book. I loved the others but this one was a struggle to get through. I was really looking forward to this book too because I thought he was going to be my favorite brother to read about. His back and forth about loving the two women was ridiculous. This book seemed to drag on to where I finally started fast forwarding some spots. Then to find out why she left was such a huge let down!! Who comes up with a story line like this??? That's something that will never be forgotten by any of the people involved. I wish I would have skipped this one and now I don't know if I want to read the last book if there is one.

Hunter is my LEAST FAV Dixon!

What the heck? All this drama over what these two did and when/how they did it? I'm trying not to give away any spoilers here, but the climax is flimsy. SO FLIMSY. For all that, she should have been what we thought was possible or something else to go along with it! Sheesh. And don't even get me started on that two timing Hunter. Disgusting. Re-write this book please and give me Isobel's happy ending...because between Hunter's selfishness and Madison's stupidity, neither of them deserved it! UGH!
