Deeply moving. Very real. A book which can be read on many levels. And the problem of immigration, racism, and "home grown terrorists", the clash of religions. The lack of Security and trained Law enforcement . To the personal dilemas which we all face. "Is it better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all?

This series of books is one of my favourite. Tony Parsons puts into it all his skill of writing a human story with the added page turner quality of a great crime story. This book is heart rending and real with all the social problems that beset us.
Colin Mace is Max! His voice is perfect for this. The only downside I would say is the voices of some of his colleagues are a little too similar. But it doesn’t detract.
In conclusion, brilliant book but don’t finish it on a night of no sleep. I haven’t got over it yet!!

One of the best books I've ever read. Great story, brilliantly crafted characters really well read. Can't wait for the next Max Woolf story.

I enjoyed the story and pace of this book, but the ending was so sad. I found myself shouting out loud as the book came to its climax.
Well worth a read.
