Summary

It's weird and frankly bewildering that the most talented women in the world are often the ones struggling to make fabulous money from their talents. In Get Rich, Lucky Bitch!, you'll get the tools and inspiration you need to go to the next level of wealth - whether you're starting from scratch or itching to break through the million-dollar mark.

Denise Duffield-Thomas has been through the whole financial roller coaster herself - she has probably made every financial mistake possible! Finally, having had enough of underearning, she dedicated a year to practicing everything she knew about the law of attraction and applied it directly to money. As a result of all this work, her income doubled, then tripled, and in a few years she went from always being broke to being a successful entrepreneur. And in this audiobook, she teaches you how create the same shifts in your own life.

This audiobook is the most practical manifestation tool you'll ever have. You'll get day-to-day actions, inspiration, kick-up-the-butt real talk, and loving advice. There's no amount of money you could want that's too big or too small. Denise will teach you to cut through years of underearning and chronic underserving, fly through your income goals, heal your money wounds, and break through old self-beliefs. No matter where you're starting from, if you're willing to uncover what's holding you back, Denise will help you create money miracles in your life.

Money blocks

I hadn't realised how much I thought money was bad, that I was selfish for believing I was worth more, thanks Denise for reminding me how much I'm worth

Couldn’t get on with it.

I know I could stand accused as a man, but I have to say I found this a combination of celebrating selfishness and man-hating.

I confess I didn’t make it all the way, but copped the first couple of hours. The idea of manifesting and the universe being effectively a person is one thing.

I was fine with the constant reference to womanhood, after all this is a book aimed at a female audience, but on recommendation by several friends, I was quite happy to learn new things however packaged.

BUT even after I ignored those things, it all unravelled in about 3 minutes when the author writes that when you give back, especially in money terms, that giving back has to honour you FIRST!!!

That’s pretty obscene an idea. Giving back should be a sacrifice we make, not just casually brushing off the crumbs from our table. That was enough to make me seriously consider switching off.....

When I then heard her say that women tend to work for (I can’t actually remember while writing this and I might lose this review if I go back!) and that men work for POWER.

Sorry, that’s where I drew the line. I know plenty of men and every single one of them, without exception works for the same reason I do..... to support their families and give them the best they can.

Did I throw my toys out of the pram? Maybe. But I just could not listen to any more of this. On to the Five Second Rule.....

Don't waste your money

I listen to a lot of personal development books and ones narrated by the author are normally great. Personally I found the title off-putting but I was happy to keep an open mind. Wish I had listened to my instincts - this book is a waste of time. I listen in 45 minute chunks on my daily walk and in 2 days, still hadn't heard any nuggets of information or got off the starting blocks. The author goes on and on with example after example of the same point which didn't need explaining in the first place. It is just full of pointless waffle with no discernible steps to take or habits to implement, aside from tracking your money. After 4 days, I got SO fed up with her voice droning on and on that I ditched it as I cant waste any more valuable time waiting for some concrete information. Most self development books have an element of scene setting and repetition but this takes it to a whole new level. 7hrs and 5mins of listening time - ridiculous - the first 3 hours could have been covered in 15 minutes.
