Everyone seems to know about Coolsocial, a fun social media app, except Gerry, and this gets him teased by Adam and his friends.

So Gerry decides to follow suit, eager and ready to make some new online friends. But things don’t turn out the way he had hoped, and all he can do now is what he loves most—give Mr. Bottles, his furry cat, some belly rubs.

Might this be the answer to everything?

A touching and inspirational children’s listen about bullying, cyberbullying, hope and forgiveness.

This story really struck a chord with me, especially seeing how the main character navigated trying to fit in with what everyone else was doing. It felt so relatable to those moments when you're tempted to jump on a trend, even if it doesn't quite feel right. Experiencing the character's journey made me reflect on my own priorities and reminded me that true comfort often comes from the simplest, most genuine things in life. It was a lovely listen that left me feeling more at peace with just being myself.

I enjoyed how the story introduces cyberbullying through a situation children can easily understand. Gerry simply wants to fit in and make friends online, but his experience shows how social media can sometimes lead to hurtful interactions and difficult emotions. I also appreciated that the story explores hope and forgiveness rather than focusing only on the bullying itself. Gerry’s relationship with his cat, Mr. Bottles, adds a sweet element to the heavier subject. A thoughtful listen for children that can also help parents and caregivers start conversations about online friendships, bullying, kindness, and how our actions can affect others.

Gerry is the heart of this book, and his experience with the new app is very moving for anyone who listens. You can really feel his excitement turn into worry and sadness as Adam starts the teasing on the platform. The story does a good job of showing that bullying isn't always physical, sometimes it's just mean words on a screen. The focus remains on Gerry's journey and how he deals with the pressure from his peers. It's a very relatable story for anyone who has ever felt like an outsider or struggled with how people act on social media.

Al Tran hit a home run with Gerry! Adam is a loser and Gerry still becomes a friend very cool concept. Would highly recommend.

It can also help parents start useful conversations about cyberbullying and making safe choices online. Mr. Bottles adds a sweet and comforting part to the story. A thoughtful read with a positive lesson about treating others with respect.
