Easy read, Learn a few facts

This short 3 hrs and 55 mins monograph does have some details of the live of George Washington that I was not aware of prior to reading this book, so overall, I was pleased. The book is poorly edited, however. Unfortunately, it was not uncommon to see a word that didn't fit into the meaning of the sentence, but it was easy enough to figure out what the word should have been. This was a distraction, though.

It touches on the high points.

This biography does a great job of touching on the high points o Washington's life but it doesn't really get to the guts of it. I guess I should have picked one of the longer, more in depth biographies to learn more about our first President as I was craving more insight into his views and policies. However, the book is easy to read and gives a good top level overview of several important events in our history.

Superficial but easy to follow points.

Interesting and readable but very brief and surface level. Lack of deep insights or new information. Easy to read though.

Well-written and well-narranted book

The history makes it very clear and it should be stressed where ever American history is taught: it was not possible to deal with both issues simultaneously; and to the nation's credit, it really wasn't that long into our history until we finally faced it and dealt with it decisively.

George Washington.

This book indeed well written and quite interesting for American citizen especially. I wish it were longer and more detailed. I love the author for a log time and my digital library is almost full of its books.

Gained a better understanding

I recommend this book highly. The author introduced his human and personal qualities along with some shortcomings, but provided insight about why he was so important to our nation in the beginning and to this day. I met his family, learned about his triumphs and failures, gained a better understanding about what made him tick, and gained a greater appreciation of his contribution to the birth of our nation.
