Plying her with books, he encourages Lorelei to write down her adventures in a diary despite her penchant for misspellings and incorrect pronunciation. The instant success of the novel brought about a play adaptation soon followed by a screenplay and silent film written by Anita Loos and her husband. The second feature film adaptation brought about the ever-popular hit featuring Marilyn Monroe as Lorelei.
