Summary

Full of daring theories and fascinating tales from the world of Ice and Fire, Game of Thrones: The Book of White Walkers delves deep into the most riveting aspects of White Walkers - who they are, where they came from and where they are going. How did the First Men cross the Narrow Sea, habitat of the Children of the Forest, and how did the war of technology and magic unleash the White Walkers? Was it really Bran the Builder who constructed the Wall and what horror lies underneath it? And is the Wall truly the permanent structure fans perceive it to be, or will it be razed through one of the many ways hinted at in the books? Finally, can White Walkers be truly defeated, and if so, how?

A perfect gift for fans of the TV show as well as the book series, Game of Thrones: The Book of White Walkers serves as both an introduction and an accompaniment to the existing media. If you want to find out how the World of Ice and Fire came to be or what might happen next, this is the place to start!

If you have GOT withdrawals this is not the one

This is a review of the books and the TV Series and discusses Hypnotises and conjecture, it's not really the White walkers story.

Good performance, a fresh voice

Well narrated, but as I've listened to 'A World of Ice and Fire' this was basically a re-cap of what I've already listened to.

could have been better

I thought it was good, but didn't really give more insight into the night king. I was a little disappointed as its all things you already know, if you watch Game of Thrones.

Pointless if you know anything about GoT

Written before the last series it adds little to no value if you have watched/ read GoT.

Doesn’t say anything you don’t already know

Pretty much no reason for this book to exist, plenty of other sources to go to when you actually want to learn something about the others. Doesn’t add anything just reiterates obvious things, not worth listening to so save both your money and time.

Rehash of known information.

There was not anything surprising or unknown if you are a regular watcher of the show or reader of the novels.

weak. nothing new!

This book about the white Walkers is only for the listen for can't get enough G.O.T. that they must have everything. the book only goes over what has allready been written in the book and TV. no new info. the narrator does a good job of going over the info.

It's okay

This is a decent listen IF you haven't plunged into the world of fan theory. However, if you are current with the TV series and you have read the books, this is just dribble. All it does is give you an overview of everything you already know. I was very disappointed with the fact that there is no new information about white walkers.

Chock full of theories

The narrator checks in with key components of ASOIAF. All very plausible conjectures and well documented. However, it leaves you guessing more about the Children of the forest and questions about the”three-headed dragon) and the riders. Excellent recap to relate books with H O series

Not worth it

This book is several things, and none of them good. It's incredibly short, about an hour. The book also tells you absolutely nothing that you don't already know from the actual books. The narrator also seems to be nearly whispering at times and seems bored with what she's reading. I would advise skipping this one unless you're just collecting everything GoT.

No new information

There is nothing about this book that gives ANY new or not commonly know facts about the white walkers. Don’t waste your time or money.

Good info for catching up on things!

Good info for catching up on things!

If you download the ebook, which is free for Kindle Unlimited members, it has a note that states that the book is constantly updated, so the audio and print may not match up.

The audio does not cover the last episodes of the series which are being split into two seasons. The first half just concluded and the second half will play out next year.

The audio covers all that has happened with the White Walkers so far in both the books and the television show. The TV show is ahead time-line wise of the books, as Mr. Martin has deadline issues. There are still 2 more books due in the series.

This is a good catch up on things you may of missed so far as well as a nice refresher for before the season of the show starts. It also covers some theories and speculations, that as a fan, you know you have.

Leanne Yau does an excellent job of narrating this Non-Fiction read about a Fiction series. She presents the information in a clear and precise manner.

I give this a 5 for what it is, but also want to put a warning out there for those that are just starting the series either in print or TV, there will be spoilers.

Informative

Obviously, it's not one of the books in the series but if you like extras and you enjoy the story I would recommend. If want to get more information and hear about another history of the Seven Kingdoms and the beginning of the white walkers it's definitely an added bonus.
