Summary

The Remingtons are a series of stand-alone romances that may also be enjoyed as part of the larger Love in Bloom series.

Ellie Parker is a master at building walls around her heart. In the 25 years she's been alive, Dex Remington has been the only person who has always believed in her and been there for her. But four years earlier, she came to Dex seeking comfort and then disappeared like a thief in the night, leaving him a broken man.

Dex Remington is one of the top PC game developers in the United States. He's handsome, smart, and numb. So damn numb that he's not sure he'll ever find a reason to feel again.

A chance encounter sparks intense desires in Ellie and Dex. Desires that make her want to run - and make him want to feel. A combination of lust and fear leads these young lovers down a dangerous path. Is it possible to cross a burned bridge, or are they destined to be apart forever?

A sweet story to brighten your day :)

What did you like most about Game of Love?

Dax and Ellie story is one that starts as teenage love and develops over time. These are my favourite stories.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Dex seeing Ellie for the first time after 4 years. He struggled to hear the conversation around him as the memories come back.

Any additional comments?

I loved this story.
Dex and Ellie have a sweet story that starts in childhood and despite a separation, Dex has not forgotten her or removed her from his heart. Ellie has had to build some rather solid walls around her heart and after a night of disaster, finds herself at Dex's door looking for help. A visit to her past enables Ellie to embrace the past and the walls start to crumble allowing her to see that Dex is the man for her.

When you're not looking for love

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Its quite an emotional journey for both the main characters and you get that with the narration.

What other book might you compare Game of Love to, and why?

I think all Melissa's books have a different take on love story, but if I had to pick one book it would be Amy and Tony from the Seaside stories.

What does B.J. Harrison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

When you listen to an audio book there is at lot more emotion in the story. You get drawn into it and that is down to having a good narrator.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

When you're childhood crush is your long lost love.

Game of Love!

This was my first Melissa Foster's book. I love it! This is a good second chance love story. I love the two main characters Dex and Elie. Dex is amazing! I was hooked by this book from the first page until the end. I already like The Remington family and can't wait to listen to the next book in this Series. This was my first listen to B.J. Harrison and the narration was very great. I'm looking forward for more stories by this author. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Game On!

What a wonderful story! I loved the long term relationship between Dex and Ellie. This story isn't instant love, but slow, steady and unconditional. I loved how realistic some of the descriptions were. Contentment with just being by the person is such a warm feeling. Ellie had walls around her heart that Dex just got thru by being Dex. Another aspect that I found especially wonderful about this book was Ellie looking at schools to see the students and not statistics. This book has so many facets like a gem. The Remington family sounds so good with their big hearts, humor, and individual characters. The symbolism of the open window was cool too. I can't wait to hear the next story (Sage) in this series. This is a standalone listen. The narrator did a great job with all of his various characters and emotions.

A Wonderful Book

I really enjoyed reading this book. Dex Remington is one of the nation's top PC game developers. Ellie Parker is a person from his past, when they were both still in school. They have come back together again by chance. There is lots of chemistry between them, but she has lots of issues with trust stemming from her time in the system. This book brings to light some of the issues that we have in our foster system, and the lasting effects that they can have on those children, even into their adulthood. Even though this is a serious issue, it does not make this book all sad, unstead it is a very positive book, as Dex is there to help her through her issues. Yes, Dex is not just a sexy man, he is a wonderful man. Melissa Foster did an outstanding job writing this book. Then, the narrator of it is B.J Harrison, who is one of the best in his field. He does such a great job. I never get confused with him narrating. You can always tell which character is talking. I highly recommend this book, and audiobook.

Best of Friends to Intense Lovers

WOW! Dexy & Ellie...What an awesome story of friends to lovers! They are the best! And who better than Melissa & BJ to bring it to you!

Ellie was in foster care throughout her life. She met Dex while she was living through the worst home. Dex helped her deal with life as a young teen. While Dex helped Ellie, she also helped him deal with the awkwardness of his own teen years.

But Ellie hurt Dex. After years of secretly loving her, he tells her and then she disappears from his life. For 4 years, he worked and got through the lose of losing Ellis in his life, only to bump into her at his favorite bar in NYC. It was again kismet because while she had a place set up to stay, nothing was turning out right. Again, she ends up at Dex's place. They very soon realize that their feelings for each other havent faded, but now that they are living together, they intensify.

It takes time and working through old pains to get to the point where they can move forward with a life together. But, after a trip down memory lane, and a run-in with an Ex, Dex and Ellie are finally able to move ahead.

Listening to this book after reading it twice still gave it a whole new feeling. Thank you, again, BJ Harrison for another great narration!

Little darker then most of Melissa s books

Dex Remington has been Ellie Parker's safe place since they were kids. To this day he still leaves his window open for her. Ellie grew up in foster care and lots of insecurities. With Dex's help she is able to trust and be loved the way she deserves to be. Melissa Foster gets better and better with each book. BJ Harrison did another amazing job with the narration.

Loved this book!

I listened to Game of Love again after reading it back in 2014. The narration brought to life Ellie and Dex’s story in a way that I didn’t remember from reading it. Ellie has had a rough upbringing and Dex was there for her when they were younger before she had to move away. When she shows back up at his doorstep then leaves again, he is devastated. Finding her in NYC is both a blessing and a curse. He is so happy to see her but doesn’t know if he can trust her and Ellie still doesn’t know how to open up and let him all the way in either. Overcoming their fears is the only way they can find love. This is a great story – even the second time around – I love all of Melissa’s characters but have a special soft spot for Ellie and Dex.

All The Feels

This book was packed with all the feels. I found the narrators did an amazing job bringing these characters to life. My heart was pulled in so many ways for the two characters and what an emotional ride this was. This one is definitely going into my re-read/re-listen pile.

Love Game of Love

This was a great story. I loved the characters. They reminded me of friends of my past. BJ Harrison narrates again and does a great job with New York accents. He made the story enjoyable to listen to.
