This may be my toughest mission yet. None of my SEAL training or my time in the CIA has prepared me for this: a prickly, five-foot-nothing hellcat Jasmin Smith. She was mine. She can fight it all she wanted, but in the end, I would have her every way a man can have his woman. She was a sassy little thing, making me work to bend her to my demands. But I will! I will bend her and tie her to me so tight she would never be able to get free. Only problem is I had to break her first. I had secrets that she needed to know.

The CIA didn’t care if Agent Victoria Marshal lived or died in an Afghani hell-hole. Yet, she survived each torture session with single-minded determination, but human flesh has its limits. She knew her time was running short. Jacob King led a privately funded black ops group into that Afghani village to gather intelligence. He didn’t expect to find an American woman. He admired her brave humor in the face of her agonizing injuries. This kind of tough-minded woman was someone Jacob wanted to know, so he asked her for a date…same time, next year.

Story
Alone, isolated from the vast resources of Guardian, Dixon Simmons reentered a world that had left him impossibly damaged as a child. He stepped back into that evil by choice. To protect all he’d come to love, he was willing to pay whatever price was demanded — even if the price was his soul. She went by many names. Her true identity was as dead as her heart. Until him. The man was every bit as lethal as she was and deliciously sexy. Dixon Simmons piqued her interest, and what started as lust turned into another “L” word. She gave a “forever after” with him no hope.

Summary
Brock Gamble's epic fall from the Titan Group labeled him a traitor. He betrayed his men. He failed his family. And when he thought he'd hit the lowest point, his wife walked out with their children, leaving him alone to drown himself in the bottle.
Surviving an abduction didn't end the nightmare for Sarah Gamble. The aftershocks of posttraumatic stress disorder hit her hard. Self-doubt and confusion. Anger and hurt. Running away was an easy escape until Brock shows up on her doorstep offering a trip to paradise and a promise to fix their marriage.
Before the couple can search for answers, Brock is pulled back into the very world that Sarah is so scared of - kidnapping, cartels, and guns - and the stakes are too high for either one of them to ignore.

Gamble on this Book
Shorter but still packed with action, suspense and sexy time. Take a gamble on this story - but start at the beginning with book one.
The Titan series is overloaded with testosterone and alpha male hotness. These men can save the world and still have time to seduce a woman and fall in love... and its always great to see a strong man fall.

Brock and Sarah!
Brock’s actions to rescue his wife and daughters when they were abducted led to him betraying his second family Titan. He had kept his two lives completely separate and he now finds himself paying the price as both families try to deal with the aftermath
Sarah is feeling betrayed and that she doesn’t know the man she married. When he suggests a trip away to reconnect, she is conflicted but if they are going to have a second chance changes will have to be made.
Their trip takes a dangerous turn when Brock is needed for a mission and his only back-up is Sarah. Her strength and resilience shines through as she shows that they are perfect teammates both in life and in love.
There is no denying the enduring love between Brock and Sarah but his desire to protect her backfired big time. I thought that the narrator did a great job not only with the characters but with the suspense part of the storyline.

Fast pace - lots of internal dialog!
Overall opinion: 3.5 Stars
NOTE: Almost the exact same review as the last book!!
I do like the stories although they tend to get very repetitive when the MCs are doing their woe-with-me in between every question or phrase. I found myself skipping forward multiple times as every question would be followed by internal dialog for up to a minute guessing incorrectly at the response. Aargh!
This one went at a faster pace but would have been 1/2 as long if the internal dialog was cut in half.
Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary.

Angst and atonement makes a bit of a slog
The earlier books in the series are better developed and better balanced. This book seems quickly written to bridge the prior book with the rest of the series and keep Brock in Titan.
Previously, Brock had hidden his family’s existence from the Titan team of single alpha males. This was to compartmentalize and keep his wife and girls safely apart from his dangerous life As the team one by one hooked up with their ladies, there never seemed to be a good time to reveal his other life. So, when Brock thought he had to choose between saving his family and betraying the team, he chose his family ... and team Titan felt ambushed.
There was therefore plenty of potential material for this redemption story. There could have been the backstory of meeting Sarah, and the explanation for and start of Brock keeping secrets. There could have been the Brock-Jared origin story of how they met and how Brock became the Titan No2 guy. This would have made this storyline more meaningful.
Instead, we get a three hour story. 1st hour is Brock at rock bottom, with drunken pity parties and Sarah upset at his hidden life. 2nd hour is them reconnecting in St. Lucia so quickly it didn’t feel earned. 3rd hour is the obligatory Titan action sequence.
In the end, this was both too short because it lacked development and too long because of the “blah, blah, brooding, blah, blah, self reflecting, blah blah, betrayal hurts...” schtick. Even the author seemed to recognize this book lacked sufficient sexy time... plugging in an epilogue that screams ... “this was advertised as a romance... but there hardly was any ... so here’s an entire epilogue about the good stuff.”
I get that it needed to be done to keep Brock with Titan. Just reading the book summary would’ve been enough for me, tho. Or the summary and the epilogue.😜

Could've been longer but Good
Characters needed more of a deep dive on their past as individuals and as a couple (ex. How they met, etc.); also one for Westin & Gamble. Good but could've been really GREAT! Hopefully all these will be covered throughout the series. Otherwise it's a nice Titan Quickie. It is a Novella after all! 💕

Married Brock seeks redemption
Brock seemed like a boring stick in the mud but is forced out of his bland make believe bubble in the previous book when his family is abducted. This short novella has him making amends while trying to work on his marriage. Hope to see more of his wife who seems to be interesting.
