Özet

You ever have one of those days?

U.S. Marine Sergeant Jake Bayard did when he has to cancel a hot date to board a transport plane to the South Pole, which is hijacked by aliens with hostile intent to Earth.

Bayard escapes into tunnels deep under the ice and stumbles upon advanced technology that teleports him to Epsilon Eridani.

Desperately alone and on the run, Bayard falls back onto his combat training, soon discovering that these aliens keep human herds for meat. That’s it. He enlists some of the downtrodden and declares war against the hungry oppressors.

Galactic Marine is the story of a gung-ho Terran taking on the masters of an insidious and ancient alien conspiracy.

The beginning is a bit repetitive about his discharge and his missed hot date but stick with it I promise it gets better. Planet hopping, aliens, good characters, good details, really enjoyed the narrator.

Stick with it!

I didn't make it past chapter seven. The writing is nonsensical. The main character just talks again and again about missing his date. Then again and again about not wanting a dishonourable discharge. Then again and again about punching the man. Then again and again about being hungry. Then again and again about wanting to hit the bodyguards. Then again and again about not wanting a dishonourable discharge- I think you see where this is going. These six chapters could have been one. The book is only 9 hours long and if this is a preview of what is to come? Count me the f out.

Genuniely painful to listen to.
