These stories are more than just funny!

What made the experience of listening to Funny Story the most enjoyable?

There are a lot of funny stories in this collection and they are all ~10-15 minutes, so it was great to put on a story to drive to the grocery and finish it. The short story format worked really well. These are stories meant to be heard, not just read. This was a great audiobook.

Which scene was your favorite?

There were so many laugh out loud good stories, but The Groom's Cake and Ghost Baby were my top two. The final story, Funny Story, was really touching and powerful.

Any additional comments?

The narration is more than just narration, they are performances and they are spectacular.

It started off amusingly enough, though I didn't particularly think the skits were all that funny. The further into the book you get, the darker it gets. Skits about Terry Shaivo and school shootings... I assume they weren't supposed to be necessarily funny, but there seemed to be an attempt at dark humor. It's not that I didn't appreciate the life lessons I think he was going for, but it's not quite how it was marketed and not what I signed up for in buying the book.
