About this listen

Frozen Minds is the second audiobook to feature DI Winter Meadows and his chirpy sidekick DC Tristan Edris. It can be enjoyed entirely on its own - fans of Elly Griffiths, Val McDermid and Pippa McCathie will love it.

When the manager of a residential home for adults with learning difficulties is found dead in the freezer, the police investigation must tread carefully. Many of the residents are vulnerable. But could one of them be the killer?

Detective Inspector Winter Meadows leads the inquiry. He begins to uncover some irregularities: in the finances, in the standards of care and with the account of events that staff and residents give to the police. The neighbours of the care home are troubled with all the goings-on. But their woes are increased when one of them is found dead in her home in suspicious circumstances. Is someone trying to cover their tracks?

Loved how the characters developed from the first book; really like the friendships. This was a thought-provoking and heartwarming story, mingled with sadness and desperation. Loved it from start to finish, and great narration too. One of the best I’ve listened to on here (and there have been a few!)

Wouldn't say it was a gripping storyline but it certainly kept you interested. Really enjoying this series and have already downloaded the next one!

Unusual storyline

I liked seeing another side to Blackwell, he was a bit one dimensional in previous book and in the beginning of this one. however, he showed another much more humane side in this story. still has a chip on his shoulder but has a few more books to smooth it down a bit more.

the change in some of the characters

An excellent story took a lot of concentration but well worth it, I hope the following books will be just as good.

A story full of twists and turns

Wow, those final chapters sure were dramatic and pulse-pounding, not to mention downright emotional. Also loved the heroics of Inspector Meadows! I obviously can't spoil anything, but..."-Winterman!", damn that final scene brought genuine tears to this cynical reader's eyes! I also liked the fact that the mystery this time around was a lot more twisty and hard, impossible really, to predict, than in the previous book. So, well done to the author!
