Summary

Rose loves Dimitri. Dimitri might love Tasha. And Mason would die to be with Rose....

It’s winter break at St. Vladimir’s, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy’s crawling with Guardians - including Rose’s hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn’t bad enough, Rose’s tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason’s got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa’s head while she’s making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy’s not taking any risks... This year, St. Vlad’s annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.

But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price....

Love the story. Didn't like the voices.

I have read this book many times. It was nice to hear it in audible. However, I didn't like Roses voice. The other characters were fine but for some reason I just didn't like her voice I kind of just put up with it

Great story terrible reading

I loved the story line and the 2nd chapter to the series. Howevern the reader did not convey the proper emotions for the story. For example, something would be said in an excited voice when it was supposed to be mumbled. It was completely off from what it should be

Hvam is a downgrade from the narration of book 1

Despite the horrible voicing and distracting over-diction of this narrator; i still managed to enjoy this audible. It is nice to listen to books I have already read the old fashioned way.

the story is great the narrator not so much

when the narrator started to call Mia Maya my stomach turned.. it was hard to hear it every time.
but the book is great, i have read it like 4 times already, 1st time listening. i hope they will re do it with a different narrator.

the reader really soured the experience

the readers voice was so different than that of the first book and it was really hard to get over at first. also, she made rose sound like a braty 12 year old and Dimitri suddenly didnt have a Russian accent

Great

I loved this book and the narrator does a great job of getting the emotions of the characters across. I only wish sh had at least tried with the accents Dimitri and Adrian feel only half themselves without it.

Much better narration than the first!

Since I gave the narration for the first book in the series a bad review, I wanted to sort of follow-up and write a review for this one and report that the narration for this one is a whole lot better. I read these books several years ago and decided I want to read them again and ended up looking them up on Audible so I could actually listen while I work. The first book was as good as I remember it being (and so was this one...even better than the first!) but the narration for that one was weak. Not so bad as to stop listening, but that narration was a bad fit. This new narrator is a much better fit. She didn't do an accent for Dimitri, but I'd rather a narrator not do an accent if they can't pull it off. Her voice(s) fit teenagers much better than the narrator from the first book, who sounded very childish. Overall, this was a good listen. :)

Frostbite

This is a very good book but I was somewhat discouraged when I found out that the narrator had changed although this reader did a very good job I had grow attached to the narrator for the 1st book. If you know the story of vampire academy this book makes it so much better and I am so exited that there are more to come!

Narrator

I didn’t like how they changed narrators from the first book, but she still did a good job after adjusting to the differences in voices.

great story, not the best narrator.

the story was fantastic and well written. however the narrator had a tendency to portray rose with a nasely whiny voice that I could not stand.
