Summary

From Gena Showalter, the New York Times best-selling author of the Lords of the Underworld saga, comes Frost and Flame, the second book in the scorching paranormal romance series Gods of War.

Bane of Adwaeweth is the most feared immortal warrior in All War history. Possessed by a bloodthirsty beast, he will stop at nothing to win. Then he meets irresistible Nola Lee. He hates the power she wields over him, but she alone can rain vengeance upon his wife’s killer.

Unaware of her destiny to rule as queen of beasts, Nola battles illness, addiction, and vulnerability. With Bane, however, she experiences pleasure for the first time, and only wants more. But being with him comes with a terrible price.

With enemies lurking around every corner, Bane and Nola must fight to survive. But time is running out, and neither can resist the sizzling attraction blazing between them. Will their romance save the beast and his beauty, or destroy everything they’ve come to love?

Showalter & Petkoff for the win

I'm SO happy Gena went with Robert petkoff for this second installment I did not care for the previous male narrator, Melissa Moran was amazing both books hope she keeps these narrators. I loved this book it's set at the same time as with vale and knox's story but nola and banes story I loved them so much how it went from must hate her shes going to be evil to him not letting her go back n saving his old wife. I NEED book 3 now.

I was wrong

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Because I wasn’t a fan of book one I wasn’t planning on getting this one. However, I am a fan of Gena so apparently I got both at once. I’m so glad I did. I absolutely loved the story of Bane and Nola! Just enough romance , adventure, fighting et. Loved it

Wonderfully & Deceivingly Complex

Robert Petkoff is absolutely wonderful. Love his rendition of each character. It really draws you in. And the story line for this series is much more complex than it seems from any individual summary of the books. I can't wait for the next one!

Disappointed

I got this book because i love robert petkoff he brings a story to life . I can say this wasn't a favorite listen though as it's confusing to me why two narrator's was used? If the female was used to read the female characters i could understand but it's not the way they read the book , robert does the male chartors side and will do the female voice in the chapter he is reading, then it switches to the female doing the other charactor and all voices in the chapter she is reading, makes it so aggravating because both their voices change with every chapter. After hearing robert give the main character a strong sexy male voice the next chapter the female will make his voice and your like , WTF? To be honest this book would of been much better if ROBERT PETKOFF did the whole book. I will not listen to any more if split like this.

Meh

I wanted to like this because I have loved many Gena Showalter books in the past but this just isnt so good quality wise. There is heat and interesting issues but overall this book is like more complex harlequin book. It leaves my paranormal dark romance heart unsatisfied. I wish author would really concentrate on one book at the time. Finishing it using enough time to make it perfect like so many of her older books. I used 1 Credit for this book and I do regret it. If someone pays 20$ for Your book it should be excellent. Kresley Cole for example never disappoints.

Wonderful

This is the second book of the Gods of War series. I adored the first book in this series and was very excited for this release. Definitely worth the wait. Though I still love Knox, we get to meet Bane and Nola. Loved the snarky humor. Can’t wait for this to continue and maybe get to know Zion?

Don't buy the audible version 2 1/2 stars

I don't write reviews very often, but I just really struggled with this book. I think some of it was the narration in the Audible version. I hated the switching between the man and woman each chapter. I especially couldn't stand how whiny the male narration of the female voices was, especially Nola. the female narrator was better.
I love Gena Showalter! She's a good to auto for me but not in this series. I forced myself to finish this. Storyline was kind of weak and the relationship between the main characters made me roll my eyes and lot.
I really hope that the story gets better because the idea is great.
I really wanted to like it more.
