From the Grave is the first title in the “MacKenzie Grey: Trials” series and the fifth of twelve MacKenzie Grey books. Raised human, MacKenzie Grey discovered at 18 that she was a werewolf shifter and later that she has other supernatural powers. Working for a special police unit, MacKenzie and her colleagues fight crime that involves paranormals. In this title MacKenzie gets unexpected help from a friend that she didn’t think she’d ever see again.
This is a well written and engaging story that has a kick-ass main character and great supporting characters. MacKenzie is impulsive and has a wonderfully dry, sarcastic sense of humour. Her job and life circumstances frequently put MacKenzie and her friends in danger and so there’s plenty of suspense in this story. At times I was chuckling at Espinosa’s brilliant descriptions whilst the final chapter had me in tears. Nicole Poole’s narration is perfect for MacKenzie and the whole story was well acted by her to really bring this story to life (no pun intended!).
A good read/listen if you like paranormal stories that are both fun and gripping.

I really enjoyed the story, I thought it was brilliant, however I've never disliked a female main character as much as I do her, awful person. However that didn't stop me downloading and enjoying all the books
