Jaxxon Carter, barmaid, would like nothing more than to better her current situation. A one-bedroomed flat, a sleazy landlord, drug-addicted neighbors - not exactly a childhood dream. When a chance encounter leads to a modelling job, she is catapulted to the peak of success. She also finds herself the focus of lethally sensual Connor McKenzie, who she hasn't seen since he left their foster home and went on to become a Formula One driver. But she has no intention of giving in to the mindless need between them. He hurt her once, and she won't allow it to happen a second time.

Confident, determined, compelling...Connor McKenzie isn't a man who deprives himself of what he wants. There was only one thing he ever resisted, and it was the one thing he wanted most: the unknowingly enticing Jaxxon. When he sees her on the cover of a magazine, it reawakens every urge he buried. She tries to keep him out of her life, but Connor can't let it go. He resisted her 10 years ago for a good reason. But now that reason is no longer there, and he's resolute that nothing - not even Jaxxon - will stop him from having her.

Set in London, where two kids from the foster system manage to rise to great success and stardom, and despite 8 years away from each other their reunion is explosive and they don’t want to let go, but their past is a struggle to overcome.
Spicy, with a strong fmc. Great book. And great narration.

Great book

Story was enjoyable. Quick listen typical of the genre. Loved the FMC

Narration was genuinely terrible. Sounds like an AI diction but the accents and voices of the male characters were especially egregious

Good story terrible audio

Without the ridiculous accents this could’ve been an easier read. Story seemed rushed towards the end but overall ok.
Typical HEA.

Awful English accents - A Hard Listen

I really like this author and her books, and have love her other books I’ve listened to. However, this was really spoiled by the terrible Dick Van Dyke esq narration. This narrator is usually fabulous and does top notch narration in her own accent, but this faux cockney/British with Aussie slips was dire. Please, please to whoever produces audiobooks, poor accents can literally ruin a book. Why did you think this was ok??? I’ve heard some absolute stinkers and I cannot see how they passed any kind of standard check. Get a real native narrator or don’t bother. It really is such a shame when this happens. I also hope this review is not censored as I’m finding if they are negative they go ‘missing’. That is also not OK. , and Audible don’t respond to questions why🤔

Good story but slightly spoilt by bad accents

This was a brilliant book I've read over again and again and always wanted it on aubible. I was surprised you chose an American voice to read this as it was set in London. Emma Wilder does a great job and her accents are great, it's a joy to listen to.
