Disappointing

Would you try another book written by Steven G. Carley or narrated by Heather Elizabeth Lynn Farrar?

A very brief sketch of some early founders of psychoanalysis and psychology. The information here could easily be gleaned from Wikipedia and a deeper understanding of any or all of the subjects included could be achieved with an hour's internet searching and reading.

Has Freud, Jung, Adler, Calkins, James put you off other books in this genre?

No.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment

Don't bother

Selective and inaccurate summaries of leading psychologists. Adler is wholly misunderstood. He was not a university professor and reducing him to a neo -freudian says nothing of his alternative approach to the psyche. Seems doubtful that the author got the others right as he seems to have drawn his info from almost a single source: "Goodwin, 2008." Dont bother selecting.

brief. choppy. far too general.

a deeper understanding of the theorists cannot be obtained by listening to this book. the Brief overview of the theorists may be helpful for those who are being introduced to the theorists for the first time.
