Summary
From the celebrated imagination of Dean Koontz comes a powerful reworking of one of the classic stories of all time. If you think you know the legend, you know only half the truth. The mystery, the myth, the terror, and the magic continue....
They are stronger, heal better, and think faster than any humans ever created - and they must be destroyed. Not even Victor Helios - once Frankenstein - can stop the engineered killers he's set loose on a reign of terror through modern-day New Orleans. Only the one-time "monster" Deucalion and his all-too-human partners, Detectives Carson O'Connor and Michael Maddison, stand in their way. But as the three race to uncover the true dimensions of an age-old conspiracy, they will discover that Victor's new, improved models have infiltrated every level of the city's society...and far beyond.

Just as good as I remember
I read this book a few years ago and was interested to see this on Audible, which I'm new to joining. Listening to an audio book for the first time; I was a little nervous about whether I'd be able to take in another person's voice considering I've only had my inner mind's reading voice that I had been accustomed to but the narrator has a comfortable voice that's easy to listen to, and the story itself is just as enjoyable as the first time that I had read it. You don't really need to listen to Book 1 to get the necessary knowledge that Book 2 - City of Night contains (I was gifted a few paper-back books including this, unknowing it was a series until I unwrapped it). I will definitely keep an eye out for Christopher Lane in the future.

Better than the first! Fast paced. Addicting.
At first hesitant to buy the Frankenstein series, I have been pleasantly surprised with the first two book. I do wish each book was longer, but I feel they are worth the purchase price. What I really like is the subtle humor within such horror. I chuckled out loud a couple of times. The pace of the action within the books is exhilarating. If you are a Dean Koontz fan I would recommend this series. I listened to this volume straight through. I like the plot and am very happy with the narration. I gave this book 5 stars all around and guess I will have to finish he series now that I am hooked. ....Tony G.

I absolutely love this series.
This wonderful Frankenstein series is full of creatures , gore and mayhem. But very often with toungue-in-cheek humor. The humor is very subtle and often found myself smirking from one side of my face. The details of the creatures are awesome and the things they do are not terrifying but certainly electrifying. I highly recommend this series and look forward to the next book. Signed me up audible I’m committed or perhaps I should be .

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice ...
I downgraded the stars because for the second book in a row it ends with zero conclusion. Just write one long book or figure out a way to end each book. No one likes paying for a handful of chapters only to find out that you have pay another credit for the next handful of chapters.
