Really loved the book and the Narrators BUT!

I wish I knew this had a 3rd book now I'm left hanging for who knows how long. I hate waiting for books that have cliff hangers as they say to them. Why can't audible or whoever note this to the readers. By the time the 3rd book comes out I will have forgotten this but for now I'm peeved about this. Love the story and the narrators are great.

Past won't stay buried

I listen to this book on audio/kindle ebook using whispersync. Loved it. I am glad the author did not go as dark as I thought she was going to go when I finished book one. Now let me stop here before I get in the review and tell you that if you have not read book one then you need to do so before reading this book. This book is not a standalone.

As we already know in book one that Lia had a messed up childhood. She was physically and mentally abused by her mother and sexually, mentally and physically abused by her stepfather. She even bares the physical scares to this day. She was strong and bounced back.

I can not imagine what it was like to know her stepfather was going to get released. When book one ended when knew that her stepfather had her and was going to do awful things to her. We knew the book was going to get even darker.

Lucian was not a man without scares. As we already know from book one that he had a painful pass and was using white powder to help him cope. He did not want Lia to find out what he was doing.

This book picks up of course where book one leaves off. Of course it will end in a cliffhanger as well but that is okay I already have book 3. I can not imagine the pain that Lucian felt when he saw Lia. Her stepfather had broke her. This had to be tearing him apart through.

There is a lot of secrets going on in this book. Of course Lucian has found out something about her pass. Now he needs to wait until Lia is ready to hear what he has to say before he tells her.

Lia is getting more curious when it comes to Cassie. Things with Cassie is just to much for Lucian to deal with. It has to be hard to know his best friend is still in love with Cassie. I don’t see how Lucian can’t feel like that is a little bit of betrayal for his best friend Aidan to be in love with Cassie. This book reveals more of the horror that Cassie put Lucian through.

This book is full of hot steamy sex, dark secrets, and a pass that keeps creating up. I love this story and can not wait to read or listen to book three.

Great book 2

This audiobook was a continuation of the story about Lucian and Lia. At the beginning of this book Lia has been brutally attacked by her stepfather, who is the abuser of her past. Lucian begins to realize how important she really is to him and as she recovers they grow closer. This book mostly deals with their emotions and coping, along with the added stress of a father she didn't know about and whom Lucian didn't tell her about. As this book ends Lia leaves Lucian and he is about to go after the woman he loves.

Why split it?

Really wondered why this book and the first were split - honesty, just make it a full book!
Story was good, narration good too, but WHY TWO BOOKS???

I love this series

I love the two main characters and their love for each other. My only complaints are the male narrator’s female voices, and the characters got a little whiny this time, but still well worth a credit.

Finished #2

Made my way through book number two in the series, despite not being thrilled with the male narrator. I do have to say his voice is high enough to do the voice of Lia quite well. Now on to the last in the series.
