Summary

She arrived into Heathrow after a difficult week at work. Her bag had been stolen. Her whole life was in there - passport, wallet, house key. When she tried to report the theft, she couldn't remember her own name. All she knew was her own address.

Now she is at the door of Tony and Laura, a young couple living in Wiltshire. She says she lives in their home. They say they have never met her before. One of them is lying. But which one?

Good story, and excellent performance

I disagree with another review, I found the narration to be calm and well delivered. Good range of characters and emotion. Would listen again.
Good twisting plot.

couldnt put it down!

listened via audible and loved the story so much! i listen to hundreds of psychological thrillers, as this is my preferred genre and this had so many twists and turns, as well as a creepy villain and a very suprising twist! just one downside for me. The narrator talks in a very cross/ statement kind of way. I hoped by speeding the narration up a little it wouldnt annoy me so much, but it did. even when she should have used a softer tone to signal anxiety or stress/ confusion she still seemed like she was reading a bad news report on tv. This will put me off from listening to it again i think. I do feel there may be a follow up and i do hope so as the characters were fairly likable but didnt have much depth, this cpuld be achieved with a second book. The village and its scenery could be expanded on too. apart from Tony's cafe, I didn't much get a feel for the village at all.
overall a really good story that I listened to over 3 days whilst pottering around the house. Well done to the writer j.s monroe, I for one will be waiting for your next book. Thank you.

Cannot reccommend

If I hadn't bought this book with a credit I have from another awful book I returned, I would have returned this one. Way too far fetched, with so many coincidences I got blase whenever another one happened. Oh and if I never hear the word Hyppocampus again I will be very well pleased, because the amount of times it was used in one of the chapters was ridiculous.

As for the narration - it sounded like bullets fired from a gun rather than words spoken to entertain.

A Very Clever Gripping Thriller

I wasn’t sure about the first half of this book, I was tempted to delete it. I was confused at exactly where the story was heading and thought the author was going off on unnecessary tangents ........ how wrong I was. As the story progressed everything very cleverly came together in a gripping conclusion.

Great story. Superb narration.

First time I’ve heard/read a J S Monroe book. I wasn’t disappointed. Kept me guessing all the way along. I am looking at others now!
The experience was made all the better by Olivia Mace’s narration, which was just fantastic. A1. Such an amazing array of different voices & accents, male & female.

Suspenseful story

I listened to the audio version of this book. I found it to be suspenseful with some good twists and turns in the story. The narrator told the story well. I will look out for more from this author.

Enjoyable but...

I did find this quite enjoyable. However, it contains a multitude of implausible coincidences piled on top of each other! You just have to run with it. And suspend logical thought.

The ending was very quick but then once it ‘ended’ there was an overly long tying up of loose ends which didn’t have to be tied up because they were fairly obvious from the whole storyline.

Good but ending bleh

The first section of the book was really good. However when we went into the second part (which was completely different by way of story) things went downhill. Towards the end, we had one of those chunks of writing where the main character suddenly delivers a lengthy monologue explaining the entire story. It’s only a personal point of view but I find that really irritating, and weak writing – all of those details and story could’ve been revealed more cleverly in other ways. Narration good
