Summary

Elsie Porter is an average 20-something, and yet what happens to her is anything but ordinary. On a rainy New Year's Day, she heads out to pick up a pizza for one. She isn't expecting to see anyone else in the shop, much less the adorable and charming Ben Ross. Their chemistry is instant and electric. Within weeks the two are head over heels in love. By May they've eloped. Only nine days later, Ben is out riding his bike when he is hit by a truck and killed on impact. At the hospital she must face Susan, the mother-in-law she has never met - and who doesn't even know Elsie exists.

Not up my street

This is not my usual sort of book. I found the plot quite slow and never really found myself gripped. I do however think this book would be a good read for someone recently bereaved of a son or husband. A heartwarming account of finding ways to make sense of life again following loss.

Wish someone had warned of the HORRIBLE narrator!

The story was probably ok, but I could not get past the awful narrator. Seriously, if you are thinking of getting this book, listen to the sample first, something I very much regret not doing.

She did horrible male voices (ok, let's face it, we get used to this, so I can get past a female who can't quite nail down make voices) but ALL of her female voices pretty much sounded the same. Half the time, I could not tell who was who. Very confusing. Oh, and did I mention that she drifted in and out of this weird Fran Drescher nasal (very annoying) whiny thing?!? What the hell?

The story itself is actually good. It sounds like the author has actually been through the pain of losing a close loved one. Too bad the pretty good writing gets totally lost on really, really, really bad narration. I would recommend this book but NOT on audio. Just read it with your eyes. Otherwise your ears will bleed

Awful!

So slow and so boring. Literally was only good for maybe the first 20 minutes. Main character is SO annoying.

Beautifully written, emotionally raw, awesome book

Where does Forever, Interrupted rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of the top stories I've heard. I usually avoid this type of story but like Me Before You by JoJo Moyes, I couldn't put it down.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Forever, Interrupted?

I would have to say when Elsie ran down the street and Fruity Pebbles were crunching under her feet.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Elsie and Ben got married. So beautiful.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried, and cried and cried some more.

Any additional comments?

It's a must read.

Good, but not great.

I liked it, but I am not a huge fan of the narrator, and perhaps that's why. I liked Susan and Elsie enough, but they weren't characters that will stick with me like some. Still, an entertaining and sweet book.

This is an amazing, insightful book

What a great book! You can almost feel Elsie's heartbreak - a book everyone can relate to. I can't wait to read more books by this author.

This book is a super nova! Out of this world

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ben, he was almost otherworldly in his awesomeness. He had this magnetism about him that even in his weaker moments, you were still head over heels for this fictional character.

Have you listened to any of Tara Sands’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

Any additional comments?

This book is a super nova, if you've read the book, then you'll understand the analogy.

Who doesn't want a love like Ben & Ellsie share? A love so pure, raw, exhilarating, and true that it will make you feel as if you shouldn't be reading someone else's diary, but darling, please continue, you won't be sorry.

This does down as one of the best love stories I've ever read. I could see where the author could be compared to Nicholas Sparks.

MUST READ!

Nicely done Ms Reid...

Awesome book. I have never been really drawn by emotional literature. But I feel that this is a good exception to the rule.
