Footbridge to Enchantment" by Nigel Tranter

The story of Footbridge to Enchantment is based on personal experiences of Nigel Tranter.
This is One of his books which had relevance to Aberlady was 'Bridge of Enchantment', the cover of which had a picture of himself on the wooden bridge (as it is known locally) which he had crossed so often.
The books he will be remembered most for though are his Scottish historical novels which will ensure that Scottish writing will remain in the spotlight for many years to come. His personal anecdotes and reminiscences of Nigel Tranter round the shores of Aberlady Bay, where he does his daily walking and writing. Chapters include: 'Two Paths to Enchantment', 'Flotsam and Jetsam', 'Boundless Dune Country', this is very nice book and having a unique story line. I enjoyed this audio book very much.

One of my all time favorites

This is just the most humane book that I have listened to in many a year. The author's voice makes it very personal as you walk along with Mr Tranter to find enchantment.
