Erik Shubach's Valkyrie series is Awesome!
Would you consider the audio edition of Folkvangr: The Valkyrie Chronicles, Book 3 to be better than the print version?
I have not had time to read the books, but I want to make time. Shubach tell's a wonderful story. In this 3rd installment the bad guys gives us a hero, for The Whispering (Something) Ellena who is a cool character to fall for. Kate and Carra are still married and fighting strong, Valhalla is still in trouble but the gang is there to keep her safe. It is one wild ride not to be missed for lover of this series.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Folkvangr: The Valkyrie Chronicles, Book 3?
When Ellena realizes she is in love with the girl who is the enemy that they have taken in. It is a touching moment but done in Shubach style so it is also laughably funny.
Have you listened to any of Hollie Jackson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to Parts one and two and four in this series and she does a wonderful job narrating them. She brings Carra and Kate's voice to live, Even Ellena comes to live in the narration. And the story is fresh and funny because of it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made laugh really hard, and smile a lot, just the way the story is told with tongue and cheek kind of voice over, And the words, yet it's a wonderful young adult romance story.
Any additional comments?
I love Shubach's writing, I love all his series from the Valkyrie, to Music of the Soul, to Drakkon, to Troll, All of them are full of laughs and imagination. In Music series some of the main characters have been deaf, or had a missing leg, which to a handicapped person like myself is wonderful. It's nice that not everyone in romance stories is Blond blue eyed perfect or brown haired hard bodied goddess, Not all of us fit that type, some of get around on walkers, have MS and do not want pity, Which is nice to see some write about romance about people who are not all perfect. Which is why I enjoy his/her writing so much. And the voicing is perfect. And I love a good sci-fi / fantasy tell. So the Valkyrie series has been perfect for this lesbian. .

If you could sum up The Valkyrie Chronicles: Folkvangr in three words, what would they be?
Emotional, Hair raising and fun
What did you like best about this story?
The fact that someone still believes in a peoples ability to change and evolve for the good.
Which character – as performed by Hollie Jackson – was your favorite?
All of them... I know that's lame but she does such a fantastic job.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. and I did. Twice.
Any additional comments?
Erik and Hollie are an amazing combo. The amazing story teller and the incredible narrator. you can't go wrong with these two. I can't wait for the next book.
