Fantastic!!

I have listened to this 360 nights a year, every year since 2017, and what an amazing story it is, too. Fast moving, and sleep-enducing. Relatable family life0 and dramas.

The main character, a girl called Flossie, is displayed as a plump girl who wants to be slim. Although this might not convey a great message, that is all I find wrong with the book. I love every moment of it (as well as knowing the first chapter off by heart- no joke!)

The narrator/reader fits the story perfectly, and not only tells the story well, but adds little twists to it that you would never get by reading the book. Eve has a soothing voice that can work either way. Keep you on your feet, or send you to sleep.

I highly recommend for ages 7+, but I reckon even adults could enjoy this story as much as I do. Set a while ago, there is a timeless feel to the book, and it gives you quiet thoughts that don't nibble to be answered straight away. I'm still pondering on it 4 years on!!

Audiobook of the decade! Thank you :)

A childhood favourite revisited

This was the first audiobook I ever listened to, after getting it out of the libray on tape back in the 80s. I've looked for it for years, and never thought it would be digitized and sold on Audible, especially after Chivers (the original publisher) went out of business. This is the exact reading I remember, Eve Karpf does a terrific job of bringing this children's book to life. The basic premise is about a girl of 9 who wishes desperately to be "all grown up" like her big sister Bella (who is 18). She finds a fur coat that magically turns her into an 18 year old. Hilarity ensues. Perfect for kids and fun loving adults! I will note that the book is English and has some UK references and slang, but, hey, a perfect chance to learn new things.
