Yet Another Disaster!

This is book four in a series where every story features a natural disaster, in previous books, we have had a hurricane, an earthquake, and a tsunami and now in this book, we have a wildfire. Although each story is standalone the two main characters remain the same - these two have had so many things to contend with I really feel for them.

Newly married, following their honeymoon in Hawaii our heroes Donavan and Beth have built their dream home and their lives appear to be returning to some sort of normal, they are even considering starting a family but fate hasn't finished with them yet and disaster strikes again, this time in the form of fire! Someone is out to hurt both Donavan and Beth.

The theme of natural disasters together with fighting crimes are woven intricately into all these books along with a blossoming, beautiful and passionate love between Beth and Donovan, they met during a hurricane and fell in love during an earthquake. Then during their honeymoon, there was a tsunami. Each of those events happened in different books now in this book, they must try to outsmart a psychopath out for revenge while at the same time fighting a wildfire.

This book though does concentrate more on Donovan and Beth's personal lives which make the characters feel more real and grounded. We get to see their love deepening as they try to start a family, while a drug dealer obsessed with vengeance plots to hurt them both. This book is another rollercoaster ride with the perfect blend of suspense, action, drama, romance, and love.

Bill Nevitt has given another amazing performance, he has narrated the previous two books in the series and I think that the continuity really helps the listener connect with the characters. Nevitt's delivery is incredibly smooth and flows well, and he brings just the right tone to all the characters.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Best in the series

I really enjoyed this book. Following a very eventful honeymoon Beth and Donavon are back home, settling into married life and try for a baby. Disaster interferes with their plans for a harmonious life, there is a spate of fires which seem to be random and could possibly be arson. When fire threatens their home the intrepid duo step up to the challenge ending with Beth facing an old adversary. A gripping story, the best in the series so far!

Bad luck strikes again

I love this series because they are always getting into so much trouble as bad luck seems to follow Beth and Donovan. Seriously I would stay away from being friends with these two because it’s dangerous for your health. I was not disappointed by this audio it’s exciting and as always the narration is great.

Will Mother Nature Give Them a Break?

Flaming Crimes by Chrys Fey is both a standalone listen and part of a series. Beth and Donovan are the featured couple in this book. In past stories, the couple has endured a hurricane, an earthquake, and a tsunami. Now they are dealing with wildfire. I love how the author meshes action, disaster, crime and romance into one. The storyline has some unpredictable twists. Bill Nevitt brings the characters to life with his performance. I enjoy how he has distinguishable voices for the characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Good read

My fifth read from author Chrys Fey. The characters introduced in Hurricane Crimes (Disaster Crimes #1) are back in this story. Well-written romantic suspense, captivating & intriguing with well-developed characters. I’ll be reading more in this series and look forward to the fourth book. (I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Can it get any Hotter?

Life is finally settling Down for Beth and Donavan. Married now, dream home and working on a family leads to the romance leads to sizzling “bedroom” scenes! But it seems as though normality is just not in the cards for these too! Wildfires and villains add even more action and thrill to this story. This is one of
those rare series that each story manages to hold its own! Bill Nevitt as narrator has provided a continuity through the last several books that makes if feel as though you are right in the midst of things.

Great mix of action, romance and drama

Just when Beth and Donovan have settled into married life and are considering starting a family, all hell breaks loose again in the form of bush fires and psychopathic bad guys. Our dynamic duo face sabotage, fear, intrigue, kidnapping, uncertainty and fire as it all intertwines in their lives and puts both at risk. The mix of action, romance and drama in this story is great and the narration showcases it well. Bill Nevitt does a great job of bring the characters to life and letting the emotions show. This story can be listened to as a stand-alone but you will get more from the relationships in the story if you listen to the books in order.

just when Beth & Donovan think it's safe...

Our favorite couple, Beth and Donovan, have survived a lot over the past couple of years...hurricane, earthquake, tsunami...and are finally enjoying married life in Central FL. Beth has her self defense school and Donovan, his monster truck racing business...now they'd like to start a family, but that has been slow coming...doesn't help the pressure from Donovan's mom and grand mom! Unfortunately, Central FL is being plagued by drought and ensuing brush fires and soon it gets close to B & D's home! Then someone sabotages Donovan's truck during a race and the couple and friend, Detective Thorn, are baffled by who would do this, after all, the bad guys have all been locked up. When Beth is kidnapped, the identity of the would-be-killer is revealed...but the story doesn't end there...you just have to read/listen to find out what happens next! Another fast paced, action packed story in the lives of Beth and Donovan.

Excellent

This is book 4 in the disaster crime series. We’ve watched them meet, fall in love, get married and honeymoon but in this book we see more of the personal lived of Beth and Donovan. Beth is recovering from her capture in Tsumani Crimes and beginning to feel something is missing in their lives while still being action packed and full of suspense.
Bill Nevitt does an amazing job bringing these crime books to life. He brings the characters to life and letting their emotions come through.

You could, listen to this as a stand-alone but it’s an amazing series, you will enjoy it so much more if you start with the first book

Mother Nature really does not like these two......

Flaming Crimes is the fourth book in this series, and, although I might be wrong because I read all four books in order, I think this book would be difficult to enjoy as a standalone. A large portion of the adventure and action in all of the books results from the same plot launched in the first book. The theme of natural disasters and crime fighting are woven with a beautiful and passionate love between Beth and Donovan. In book one, they meet during a hurricane. In book two, they fall in love during an earthquake. In book three, they honeymoon during a tsunami. Finally, in book four, they try to survive a psychopath intent on revenge while battling a wild fire. I am thinking maybe an avalanche in book five..............

Unlike in the first three books in the series, this book focuses more on the personal lives of Beth and Donovan outside their occasional assistance with the Tampa police department and with their best friend, Detective Thorne. The listener hears more about Beth's life as the owner of a self-defense studio as well as her interactions with her employees and students. We also get a more in-depth look at Donovan's career as a monster truck competitor. The author shows these two falling more and more in love as they try to become pregnant, all while being hunted by a vengeful drug dealer. This entire series and especially Flaming Crimes is the perfect blend of action, romance and drama, and I certainly hope the author continues with book five soon.

Bill Nevitt does his usual amazing job with the narration. He narrates all but the first book in the series, so having that continuity really helps transition between stories. Nevitt differentiates well between male and female characters, and his delivery is incredibly smooth and flowing. I enjoyed his performance so much that I listened straight through this book without stopping.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

Drama and excitement abounds in this series

After listening to the other books in this series, this one deals with a lot of fears that people today must confront. The fear of muggings and rape, and how to face it. The fear of almost losing a loved one in an accident, the fear of fire and the devastating impact it has on a family and community. Then there is the fear of being targeted by a ruthless criminal, being kidnapped and facing a terrible death at his hands.
However, for each fear, there was always the positive attitude, that anything could be overcome and the individual still had power, irrespective of the situation. It was a case of finding a way out!
The narrator does a fantastic job, bringing the characters to life and creating further dimension through his vocalizations.
I have really enjoyed this book, as well as the others in this series.

A hot, sexy romantic thriller

Flaming Crimes is a sexy romantic thriller with fire thrown in the mix. For those who have been reading the series, the fire in this book is not as dramatic or violent as the last book’s Tsunami nor does this book have as much action as the previous installment (unless you count sex). The fire in this book has a bit of a slow start, and it takes a while for the action to get hot. Still it is fun to catch up with Beth and Donovan.

The narrator of the audiobooks improves with each book. His voice takes a little getting use to, but it is engaging and draws the listener in to the story.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

GREAT READ!

I really enjoyed this book. It was full of so much action and suspense I couldn't put it down. The narration was outstanding and gave the story that extra flair. It will really keep you entertained. The author did an excellent job with the characters and plot. I read this book without reading the previous ones in this series but I will be rectifying that as soon as possible! I am so glad I was introduced to this series and really look forward reading more books from this author. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
