Taboo with some mystery
I found this story really interesting. I enjoyed the taboo side of the story but it had much more to it and really keeps you hooked. This short story really packs a punch. I think the narrator did a great job with these characters and added to to the story. This story will leave you with wanting more.

I'm a bit torn about it.
This is my first book by CL Matthews, and I have to say, I definitely did not expect this. I love age-gap romances, and as such I thought I would naturally love it, but it's a tricky thing to do right, and I'm not very sure it was done right all the time in this. At least initially. Matthews' writing was pretty average, but the performance by the narrators more than made it up for me. So while some of it was a winner, some of it lost pretty badly. But that's just me.

So taboo so naughty
This story is wrong, taboo in so many ways. Silas is old enough to be her father, he’s her mother’s business partner, then her mother’s husband. In Leila’s innocent, naive mind he really wants only her and in the end Silas tales advantage of that notion.
Lacy Laurel and Aaron Shedlock are spot on in the narration.

A new level of taboo
There’s so much about this book that pushes into taboo and downright forbidden. I’m left with too many mixed feeling and I’m undecided if I want rest of this series.
The writing is brilliant and I cannot fault that at all. I love the cultural references and the characters on their own and even their chemistry is scorching just the story itself doesn’t lure me. There’s no real romantic connotation just plain taboo.

Forbidden Love
Oh how I felt for Leila how heart breaking when your first crush/love becomes your stepfather. If you love a book that is full on Taboo than First is so a book for you/me. I was not a big fan of Silas he is just so full on I was rooting for Brax he seems a much better fit for Leila. I was not sure that the length of this book would be enough to get into a story but it's wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am full on and smoking hot. I can't wait to hear the next two books as I so need to know how this will play out.
Lacy Laurel is fab and she puts so much into her story telling I just love her voice and emotion. Aaron Shedlock is the perfect alpha and did a excellent job and they both sounded amazing talking in Spanish.
I need the next book ASAP.x

A beautiful yet... dark and twisted tale
Firsts is the first book in the Cape Hill Series by CL Matthews. This was the first book I had listened to from CL Matthews and I knew going in that it was going to be taboo and taboo it certainly was. I went into this book and was convinced that Silas would be my favorite, I mean who doesn’t love an alpha, domineering lead, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Brax. I’m still team Silas and Leia, but Brax grew on me. I can’t wait to see how the relationship changes over the course of the series with both Brax and Leia and Silas and Leia.
Lacy Laurel and Aaron Shedlock are AMAZING in this dual narrated book. This book is taboo, there is no way around that, but somehow, the narration was so spot on that I was even able to kind of ignore how uncomfortable I would have usually been with that big of an age difference and just live in the story. They each bought the characters to life and made some characters likable that might not have been otherwise, particularly with Silas. I can’t wait to start book 2.
If you love taboo books that are equal parts dark and twisted, then this book is for you.

Taboo!
This was a hot and steamy age gap/taboo story. It was enjoyable although I didn't realize it ends in a cliffhanger when I decided to listen to it. The characters were interesting and likable. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all ends in the next book. Lacy Laurel and Aaron Shedlock did an amazing job bringing this story to life with the various characters and accents.

Wowza
Well dang, now I know why all that chatter about this book. It is freaking hot as hell that’s why! It’s has some of the best sexy scenes written in such a way that really grabs your attention and holds on tight. I liked the characters and the story line. Very well done. Narration was great too; Professional and smooth. This is a great choice for an exciting and sexy book!!!

So hot!
Wow, this is so forbidden it’s so wrong but oh so hot! I got a little frustrated with the teasing but it was well worth the build up. Great performance from both Lacy and Aaron.

Great narrattion, not so good story.
Maybe this book wasn't for me, or I don't know. I didn't really enjoyed it, nor was I able to really get into the story. The characters are ok, not great, and I didn't feel a real connection or chemestry between Silas and Leia, this attraction toward each other they said they have it's kind of missing, at least for me.
The narrattion was really good, both Lacy Laurel and Aaron Shedlock did a fantastic job with their narrattion and I really liked it.
