About this listen
From the New York Times best-selling author of the Night Huntress series comes a breathtaking new journey to the dark side of desire.
The night is not safe for mortals. Denise MacGregor knows all too well what lurks in the shadows - her best friend is half-vampire Cat Crawfield - and she has already lost more than the average human could bear. But her family’s past is wrapped in secrets and shrouded in darkness - and a demon shape-shifter has marked Denise as prey. Now her survival depends on an immortal who lusts for a taste of her.
He is Spade, a powerful, mysterious vampire who has walked the earth for centuries and is now duty-bound to protect this endangered, alluring human - even if it means destroying his own kind. Denise may arouse his deepest hungers, but Spade knows he must fight his urge to have her as they face the nightmare together, because once the first crimson drop falls, they will both be lost.

Good book, not impressed by the narrators accents

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Having read and enjoyed most of the series about Cat and Bones I thought I would try this offshoot too. The story didn't disappoint, but oh my goodness...that accent. Seriously, Bones has the worst cockney accent you've ever heard. Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins sounds practically perfect in comparison. I found myself laughing every time Bones spoke, which was very off-putting.How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her god-awful accent for Bones. It ruined the book.Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Laugh in all the wrong places, because of Bones' accent!!Any additional comments?
Please, get rid of the narrator for the next books! The worst 'Brit' accent since Dick Van Dyke...

there was an interesting storyline to this one, throwing demons into the mix. it definitely keeps the reasons our favourite vampires have to keep going to war fresh!
worth a read/listen and slots nicely into the night huntress story arc.
I recommend reading the books in the order suggested by the author so you have a fuller appreciation of who eveyone is and what they mean to each other. I actually started with Vlads story without realising how much more there was. those books are fantastic by the way. but I've now gone back to listen to the whole story of the night huntress world from the beginning and I'm really enjoying it.
pretty good

Enjoyed the way this book fits in with the rest of the Bones and Kat series and shows the back story for Spade and Denise. Very emotional in parts and I loved the way their relationship was not instant but grew. I have really enjoyed all of Jeaniene Frost books. Strong stories and complex charactersGood Listen

I am English and I don't find it annoying or wrong I think it's great and the story is great one of the few book series to be able to get me to read every single book in the night huntress universe.
Good listen
