Summary

Tough, resourceful, and ruthless, ex-SAS trooper Nick Stone is now working for British Intelligence on deniable operations. And is desperately in need of cash. When he is offered a lucrative freelance job, Stone thinks his problems are over. All he needs to do is kidnap a Russian mafia warlord. And so Stone is thrust into the grim underworld of Estonia, with unknown aggressors stalking the Arctic landscape.

Russia has launched a cyber-espionage attack, hacking into the West's most sensitive military secrets. Stone must stop them. But the mafia are waiting in the wings with their own chillingly brutal solution....

Excellent

This was a good story I enjoyed this, plenty of action from start to finish and a brilliant twist in the story.

Andy Mcnab

These books are amazing. Nick Stone is deadly, charming, rough, intelligent, stupid, cultured, surprising, and compassionate as he can be. I'm reading the lot, it's an education..

Gripping fantastic series!

Loving the Nick Stone books obviously drawn from Andy Mcnabs experiences after reading his factual books , amazing detail can’t wait for the next one !

A lot of detail to add very little substance

Where does Firewall rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Middle of the road

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

There is a lot of detail in the background and I know that some is inaccurate and therefore worry about the rest.

True Allen keys are made from hardened and tempered steel, hardened to about 52HRc, which is hard, although not the hardest steel you can get it is still very hard, too hard to cut with a junior hacksaw and you probably need to use an angle grinder to cut it.

You certainly cannot bend it with your bare hands, even if you are Nick Stone!!

Other hexagonal tools are available - the rubbish that you get with your flat pack from China, which are of course sub-standard and not hardened, but they are NOT Allen Keys!!

What about Paul Thornley’s performance did you like?

None really, I find his range of accents limited.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The death of Tom

A true blockbuster

I loved this story, which is almost 4 stories in one, each one building the tension to an explosive climax.

Another Nick Stone belter from McNab

A big fan of McNabs books now ,and Nick Stone!, great descriptive writing, so much detail you know exactly what rooms are like you go in to, the forests you walk through and the stations hotels and huts you stand in. Long way to go yet in the NS saga but looking forward to it.

thrilling

although I didn't find this book as the first 2 I still loved it and it was a thrilling and I also wasn't expecting it to end the way it did, it keeps you wanting to listen more and the narration couldn't be better
