VERY Old Book

1993. Somewhat interesting to recall what was “a thing” back then. Lots of OMG about women in the workplace, “my wife doesn’t want me partnered with a female cop,” etc. I remember this but think it was long gone by 1993.

I’m used to gritting me teeth in cop and military books while the author makes fun of environmental concerns - not so funny now- and defames “liberals”, but usually it’s once or twice; here you are going to hear it every 15 minutes or so. Also be ready for race language we would not use or publish today.

I probably bought this on a sale but even if offered free, if I were you I would not waste my time.

I love good crime novels. This isn't one.

I had always heard Wambaugh is a good writer. He's not. His politics - expressed every other sentence in the first chapter - are just plain ugly. Want great crime fiction? Read Donald Westlake. Wambaugh is garbage.
