Nikki Ash does it again. She writes gold every time, and I look forward to her books because I know I am in for a treat! This dark romance is spectacular. My favorite kind of listen, she puts in just the right amounts of romance to suspense. Giovanni is the future mafia boss, but right now he is running the escort business. When one of his girls gets roughed up, he pays the offender a visit. What he sees there, he can't forget. Aria has been a prisoner in her stepfather's house since the death of ther mother. Abused in every way, she sees no way out until Gio rescues her. Little did she know, it was from one prison to the next. What happens next? Nikki Ash steps out of her normal contemporary romance zone and creates a world that is a dark and dangerous, pulling me in and wondering if Gio was going to be the one to truly save Aria. Aria is a tough woman, enduring so much torture, she deserves a chance to be happy. Hearing this build and the twists the story takes is so satisfying, it's one not to be missed.

Cecily Foster and Christian Leatherman team up to bring this story to life. Foster is fantastic as Aria. Each layer of her is peeled away as she heals from the past. Leatherman is protective in one scene and deadly in the next. Loved their voices, complimenting each other and keeping me captivated.

Brilliant narration from Cecily Foster and Christian Leatherman, who bring all the emotions, drama, full on angst and wonderful characters to your ears.

Giovanni is the eldest son and one day will take over the family business. He is worthless, but family is his life. While collecting a debt, he finds Aria being held against her will. He saves her by keeping her and taking her into his world. Aria maybe hurting and has gone through so much, it has not taken away her inner strength and want to give and receive love.
Giovanni, unknowingly has brought light, healing and beauty into his world. He is all alpha but he knows how to help the woman he loves.

These two together are so great and sexy

This was such an intense story. It was filled with brutally, darkness, grief & sadness. But Aria is such an incredibly strong & determined woman. She has survived through horrible situations and hasn’t let that change who she is at her core. She is a kind and loving young woman.
I loved the empowerment this story shows.
There was so much passion, chemistry, brutality, love & hope.
Watching their emotions grow and progress from two very different, opposite people was amazing, gripping and intense.
