Fifth Round

I really love these Laura Greenwood books they are my not-so-guilty pleasure. The books are fun, a little over the top, and perfectly paced for the length of the book. I would have liked it more if they were combined together instead of 3 shorter books, which would give the characters more opportunity to develop, but they aren't bad for being shorter books.

The narrator improved.

As much as I wanted to like this story, it is a bit too ridiculous. Esme is such an uninspired caricature that all I could do was roll my eyes whenever she was around. Also, what was the point of the tattoo scene in the first book if this one was just going to wave it away as “the tattoo faded because our love is stronger than shady ink”? The narrator was better in this book, even if the recording quality isn’t. Also, that is not anywhere near the proper pronunciation of “paella”. Hector remains the best part of this series.

fun story

This was another fun story in this series. I love the characters and how they interact with each other. Nerds and dragons unit.
Amusing story
The narration at times was distracting because of miss used words but it didn't stop it being good everall

Dragon's in the Sun!

As the competition heats up, Lola and her mates face new quetions and new enemies. I loved how Lola handles the questions surrounding Rachel's herritage, and Esme really is someone you love to hate, she's awful! I can't wait to start book 3!

Trying to be honest.

Ok I dont feel I can really leave a fair review for a couple of reasons.
1. I didnt know this was the second book so I havent had a chance to listen to book 1.
2. This is not my normal type of listen, but I wanted to try something new.
3.I dont normally listen to short books.
So for the reasons listed above all I can say is, it wasnt awful, and the narrator did a good job. audiobook obsessions reviewer.

Wow

I reiterate what I stated in a previous review about how awesome it is to mix dragons with a game tournament. I suppose dragon shifters would be more appropriate, but it's still awesome to me. This is a very unique series. I just adore it and can't wait to read the rest. The characters are still very connectable. I do feel that rather than getting more of the secondary characters get pulled to the front, Rachel was pushed a bit to the back in this one. She wasn't participating in the tournament though. To be fair. There seems to be a hint about her that has transgressed to this book that's really nagging at me. The narrator did good on this book as well. I stick by what I said about wanting to listen to other books she narrates. I did notice a bit of an audio issue with this books. There were parts that were a bit sluggish. It distorted the narrators voice a bit. It was only short bursts and barely happened. I am changing my opinion on the possibility of these being combined into one. Each book is based on a tournament. That's justification enough for me. Both books have been really cute and easy reads. I can't wait to read the rest.

Loved it!

I loved this book. It was steamy and fun. I really wish that someone would create the game that they play in the book. I would love to watch people play it. I have a feeling that we have not heard the last of Esmerelda and her men. Stinking mean girl! Great story. Definitely need to read this one!

Another cute listen

Another cute, short listen. Probably not something I'd come back to again, but it was an enjoyable listen. We get to see a bit more of their gaming life in this and they go on vacation. It was interesting to see another side of the characters.

Once again, I give the narrator 4/5. I am in the US, so UK narrators aren't always easy to understand, but Susan does a great job! She's pleasant to listen to and easy to understand. I also feel like she brings this socially awkward character and her fellow characters to life well. I'd definitely listen to her again!

Wish it had some steam ☹️

I don’t understand how you can gear the RH genre to a young teen audience. I prefer RH because of the steam and uniqueness of the the group. So listening to a RH series with zero steam is really disappointing. On the positive the story is entertaining and I really like all the characters.

Fun listen

This was fun and a look into the group continuing on their competition journey. Love the twist at the end and will be jumping into the next hoping Rachel is able to get a little more self discovery.

I needed more !

This a slow burn rh and I don't mind that but I should have gotten all the books in one go . That is entirely my fault .☺ The narration was well done and I believe the full story will be well worth the wait . I love all sorts of tournaments and this one didn't disappoint .

Working Together to Win in Games and In Life

Title: Fifth Round
Author: Arizona Tape and Laura Greenwood
Format: Audio
Narrator: Susan Greenway
Format: Genre - Dragon Shifter, Reverse Harem, LGBT, NA (New Adult)
Standalone: Mostly
Part of a Series: Book 2 of The Renegade Dragons trilogy
POV: Lola
Steam Level: Just kissing
4/5

Fifth Round takes place in Barcelona where Lola and her mates must work together to win the tournament and fight to overcome hatred for their uncommon mating. Again, very tame for a "reverse harem" but also a great story .of finding yourself, your happiness, and loving no matter what others say or think about your love.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsessions. This is my honest and voluntary review.
