Summary

Love is somewhere near the bottom of Lily Thomas' list of life goals, right next to competitive eating and underwater cave diving. She's spent six years pirouetting and pliéing her way up the ranks of the New York Ballet with her eye on the prize and love in the back seat. But now that Blane Baker - Lily's long time crush - is finally single, she'll throw her rules out the window without thinking twice.

Reality with Blane isn't as epic as the fantasy she imagined, and the truth sends her spinning straight into the arms of the man she never knew she'd always wanted. West Williams has been friends with Lily since the day she moved into their building, and he saved her armoire from a swift, sudden death by staircase. Their friendship has always been easy, the boundaries clearly defined. With neither of them willing to risk their relationship, they've drifted happily through the years as companions, never considering more. That is, until they do. And that realization changes everything.

A PERFECT FRIENDS TO LOVERS ROMANCE

I loved this friend to lovers romance.

A friends sit-com feel as all friends live in the same apartment block, share laughs and good times together, they wander into each other's apartments and are a close-knit group of friends but what happens when lines begin to get blurred?

A slow burn romance.

Lily is a ballet dancer who has landed the lead role in Swan Lake and alongside her is her dream partner and crush Blane Baker.

West is a teacher, a hottie, he's the kind of guy who just hasn't met the right girl yet, once upon a time he thought he had but didn't have the connection. West has one night stands and when he first met Lily he was in a relationship so from there they have both just friend zoned each other despite their closeness.

This is one of those relationships where all their friends can see clearly that West and Lily are in love with each other and are all just waiting for the penny to drop and one of them to be brave enough to make a move.

I loved the build up in this book. Lily's mistakes with her current crush, realising that not all fantasies are as good as they are built up to be and West realising after all these years that he is actually in love with Lily.

A great book with a great feel to it.

I listened to this on audio and the narration was perfect. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

AN IDEAL SUNDAY READ

Friends to lovers , with a twist.

Upscale friends, find themselves in a love they never realized was blooming,by watching each other’s bad hook ups.... their circle of friends just knew it would happen sooner or later and are helpful in getting them together. Kristen does each voice very well and blends the characters seamlessly. This was a whim choice and glad I did... Staci is a good story teller, the rest of the series should be great!

One of the best narrations I've heard! Phenomenal!

"May your endings be happy and your habits be bad!"

I freaking LOVED this book!!! West and Lily are phenomenal! The whole Habits group is so amazing that you just want to be included in their group!

Lily Thomas and West Williams have been neighbors and friends for years, always keeping each other in the friends zone due to certain circumstances. When Lily finally decides to take a chance on her high school crush, West takes a notice and it puts things in perspective for him. While things aren't what Lily had hoped for with Blane, she starts to notice more while around West.

Their story is utterly beautiful! I loved the drama, the love, the fun times. West Williams is HOT, with a deep soul, sexy personality, and HELLO-HOT manbun!!!! Lily is a natural beauty, with a ballerina body, and she too has a deep soul to match West's!

An amazing friends to lovers romance that is a MUST read!!!

Almost perfect

It's a great love storyline, love all the characters. But too much cussing especially the first few chapters. I don't think you need that much cussing just to get the message out that you're angry. Other than that, it's really a good romantic novel.

This book is lacking

The book is over 8 hrs long, 7 hours of the book had the main characters dancing around each other and dating other people then the last hour is when they came together and discovered how madly in love they were with each other (seriously, they didn't even kiss or have sex until the last hour of the book WTF!!???)

I don't even know what category to put this book in but it's definitely not romance. It started out with the leading lady banging this guy she was infatuated with for a while and throughout the book it was her chasing him trying to build a life with him. The supposedly leading guy wasn't exactly waiting around though, he had a "friend" to keep him company.

This book wasn't worth my time but hey, if you have a credit and 8 hours to waste then have a listen.

Spectacularly erotic! Sweet, fun, and exciting!

Would you listen to With a Twist again? Why?

So um yeah, the first few lines pull you in just a little bit…right! Any author who starts a romance novel with that kind of passage is wonderfully & spectacularly erotic in my book! You have to listen to see what I mean….!!! No time wasted in this book, you are pulled right in and sucked into the story. The characters are all so tangible and easy to relate to, stunningly developed. I found myself shocked and appalled when bad things happened to them and cheering for them when luck went their way! I adore dance and all things ballet so I treasured all of the precise and detailed passages about this beautiful art!

What was one of the most memorable moments of With a Twist?

That night at the club!

Which character – as performed by Kirsten Leigh – was your favorite?

Ok so we all know how a narrator can make or break an audiobook. Well this narrator was phenomenal! She made each and every character come alive! Her portal of Lilly was superb! I can’t imagine Lilly with any other voice than the one given to her by Kristen! She was Lilly!

This is funny with a twist of sexy!

Lily and West could be your college friends only more put together. the supporting characters are deeply drawn as well and leave you wanting more of their stories. I can't wait to hear the next book!

Ok story. Vomit inducing conclusion. Disappointing

i struggled at the start and had to keep making myself read on in the hope of improving as I'd just spent good money on this book. My persistence prevailed and i got quite into the story. I especially like the other characters as you can see their own dramas happening around the main story, definitely leading to multiple follow up books which is always a good thing. But then.... the ending, ugh! what can i say? I wanted to vomit it was so annoying and cheesy and happy happy it just ruined the book. And its not even like it was just the very end that let it down. It was the whooooole end section. the whooooole omg im actually in love with her/him and no growing feelings etc its just bam. which can also work in some books... but not this one. It was soooooooo terrible. disappointing as it would have been a 3 or 4 star read if there was more conflict less soppy "i love you more than life itself, i dont exist without you, im going to write you a poem about how we are two hearts beating as one" crap. But sadly... its pushing it at 2 stars. I couldnt get to the end quick enough for it to be over.
