Summary

An Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal best seller.

Dear Luke,

First let me say - I love you...I didn’t want to leave you...

Luke Richardson has returned home after burying Natalie, his beloved wife of 16 years, ready to face the hard job of raising their three children alone. But there’s something he’s not prepared for - a blue envelope with his name scrawled across the front in Natalie’s handwriting, waiting for him on the floor of their suburban Michigan home.

The letter inside, written on the first day of Natalie’s cancer treatment a year ago, turns out to be the first of many. Luke is convinced they’re genuine, but who is delivering them? As his obsession with the letters grows, Luke uncovers long-buried secrets that make him question everything he knew about his wife and their family. But the revelations also point the way toward a future where love goes on - in written words, in memories, and in the promises it’s never too late to keep.

Critic reviews

“Readers will feel like they have a first-class ticket to a scavenger hunt as they ride along with the main character to solve one mystery after another...The characters are multidimensional, and their beauty lies in their flaws and accountability.” (RT Book Reviews)

Enjoyable

I liked this story. It was quite enjoyable. Even though the subject matter was tinged with sadness it was an easy listen. Recommend this book. The audible presentation was good except when the reader read women’s parts he uses a child like voice. Sounds patronising to grown women. But good overall.

A lovely emotionally engaging listen.

I loved this sad emotional story. I don’t know if it comes under a feel good, but it gave me the warm fuzzies.
I’m not the biggest fan of men doing female voices, although it’s Luke’s story we hear a lot from Natalie through letters which are delivered to him regularly following Natalie’s death. I was so wrapped up in the story that the male rendition of her voice didn’t bother me.

Really enjoyable

This isn't the sort of book I usually really read. I tend to stick to crime, supernatural type stories. However I really did enjoy this book. I found myself listening at times I wouldn't normally. The story was interesting and different but it was easy listening. I like the narrator and bought into the characters. I would happily recommend this book as a good all round listen.
