Publisher's Summary

Most schoolteachers count the days until summer vacation, but not Gwen. Sure, she loves her job, but it doesn’t exactly pay well. So when a student’s father asks her to fill in for his nanny for the summer, Gwen should be thrilled. After all, Alexander Romanescu is insanely wealthy, and she adores his daughter, Isabella. And yet… And yet she can’t shake the nagging feeling that saying yes to this man could lead to much more than she bargained for. Not to mention that the gig isn’t even in Los Angeles - it’s at the Romanescu’s isolated estate in Transylvania, the land of Dracula and Vlad the Impaler. But creepy bloodsuckers will be the least of her worries if her bank account balance drops any lower. And so Gwen says yes: yes to the job, yes to a European excursion…and yes to a summer that will change her life forever.

    "Not a Vampire story!"

This book reminded me of a Lifetime movie. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I like the Lifetime channel and occasionally enjoy watching a marathon of movies on a lazy or rainy weekend. Vlad All Over was a SUPER fast and easy read. I liked where it was going until the last third or quarter of the book. The female lead was really annoying me and I was feeling as much frustration as the male lead. I was not really happy with the way it ended and somehow felt cheated. But not everybody agrees with my way of thinking and I can see how somebody would like what the characters had coming to them. Perhaps that's what the author was hoping to accomplish. Because, when I finished the book and my Kindle alerted me to the sequel, I immediately downloaded it and started reading again. Maybe I will get the ending I hoped for afterall.

    "Thoroughly Disappointed"

    **Spoilers**
I am so disappointed. Was it a book about vampires, romance, what? The book started out all right, but midway through lost steam and fell into a pit of repetition. Page after page, chapter after chapter, the couple had the same argument: I love you—well, I don’t love you, and so on over and over again until I was sick of the two of them. The characters were totally unlikable and had no qualities that made you want to root for them to be happy. There was pay off for the reader, no wonderful final moments that make you say, “awww, this was good.” No, it was not. There was no resolve to several situations in the book and no happy ending. It was almost as if the author tired of it herself and just gave up.

    "Good book, bad heroine"

I did like the book, I do think that it could have been a bit more developed there are some things that need more detail and explanations . I hated the female lead character. In the later half of the book she came off as a spoiled child. I would like to read book two, and hope her character matures but I am not sure if i will yet.

    "Not a HEA"

I kept reading hoping the main characters would get better but they didn't. Honestly I keep getting the desire to slap Gwen and Alexander never wised up a bit. There is a sequel in book form 'Vlad to the Bone' but I am not going to waste money on it. Both of the main characters are too annoying and I don't think I could make myself get another book by this author. The only good thing I can say about this book is that Tanya Eby made it tolerable...she is an excellent narrator.

"Not a happy or Romantic ending! Waste of credit!"

This book was very misleading. It wasn't really a romance. Just because you have sex doesn't make it a romance. The questions about whether or not she was actually a descendent of Vlad Tapesh was very fuzzy?! Gwen was whiny and unsure of everything except that she really didn't care about her baby's father. One who came off as a weak punk because he loved her.
The most dissappointing one I have ever listened to. This book had no heart only the whiner that is Gwen because everything seemed to be about what she wanted to do. I was still looking for all the things she said about Alex in this book but never could find. Maybe it was in the portions that was cut out of the audio book. Truely a waste of my time and I strugged to finish it hoping it would get better or that they would have some kind of resolution.

    "Narration was the best part"

Actually the narration was the only satisfying part. Ms. Eby did a great job with both the female and male voices and her inflection and pronunciation were spot on. I will be looking for more book she narrated.

There was the promise of a good mystery surrounding the lucid nightmares Gwen has been having since childhood and her knowing things she shouldn't about Vlad's real life; even a trip to a real gypsy fortune teller who knew things a scam artist couldn't. Then Ms. Orsoff just dropped the whole thing and left me to ask what was the point of building it up?

Both of the main characters were pretty unlikable. In the end Gwen is quite whiny and emotionally unavailable and Alex is just a manipulative bully. Gwen and Alex also lacked chemistry. And the ending sucked.

I just kept hoping there was going to be a reveal that would pull it all the parts together but in the end it just was "What! That's it? It's over?" then "Thank Heavens!"

*** I would love to see what another author could do with the original premise.***

    "Narration was great!"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

The ending kind of sucked and the characters didn't seem to change or grow during the book. The book ended up being predictable and a little boring.

Has Vlad All Over turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, but I doubt I'll read anything by this author again.

Could you see Vlad All Over being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    Definitely not.

    Any additional comments?

The story started out ok, but kind if lost its way and got boring. I skipped ahead as I predicted how it was going to end, and sadly I was right.
