    "Sweet, feel-good contemporary romance"

Book Two in Rachel Ayala's The Hart Family: Have a Hart certainly lives up to the first book in the series. It is just as sweet and has the same feel-good factor.

Jenna and Larry's story is a clear case of opposites attracting. Larry is a down-to-earth, true blue hero with the scars to prove it. His experiences have left him vulnerable and lonely. Jenna is an aspiring designer flitting about in the shallow fashion world. They contrast physically as well as in lifestyle choices making it seem impossible that they should work. Indeed these differences present large challenges for them to work through before they reach their HEA.

Luckily there are a few more Hart siblings who need to find their partners. I am looking forward to hearing their stories.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

This is the second in the Hart family series and every bit as good as the first. I like the characters and the sweet pup in this well written story. I voluntarily reviewed this audio book after receiving an advanced copy.

    "Sweet Valentine Romance!"

Jenna Hart, New York fashion designer, has returned home to San Francisco to host a charity fundraiser for the local firefighter's widows and orphan's fund. She tries to convince her fire chief brother Connor to let the firefighters participate in the fundraiser, but he refuses to do anything that might demean them. Jenna picks up a sweet little basset hound from the shelter to persuade him to help her, but she immediately loses the little puppy.

Larry is a former firefighter, injured in a fire and scarred over his face and body. His fiancee left him while he was recovering from his burns and he hasn't dated another woman since. Larry discovers the lost puppy behind a dumpster, and immediately falls in love with him. Larry names him Harley and decides to keep him if he can't find his owner. When he finds out that Jenna is Harley's owner, he's disappointed. Jenna asks him to keep Harley until she can gift him to Connor. She also asks Larry to participate in the fundraiser, but he's reluctant to be on display with his scars.

This is a sweet clean read, it's the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. I lost my heart to Larry from the first page, he was so vulnerable and sweet, yearning for someone to share his life with. I had a tougher time warming up to Jenna, but I did like that she never flinched or looked away from Larry's scars. She didn't love him in spite of his scars, but because of them. You have to respect a girl like that. The true romance for me was Larry and Harley. I just wanted Larry to get to keep the little guy and every time Larry faced losing him it broke my heart. The Hart family is a riot, and their interactions are just hilarious!

The narrator did a great job, not only with the speaking voices, but with Harley's barks and howls as well. She has a pleasant sounding young voice that worked well for this story. I received a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. I can't wait for book 3, it's time for Connor to stop meddling with his sisters and have a romance of his own!

    "Always root for the underdog..."

Having already fallen in love with the Hart after reading the series, listening to Ms. Groberg brought even more delight. Relaxing delivery and the heart she puts into bringing these characters to life, shines through each word she speaks and character she emotes. Serious subjects delivered with humor, heart and wisdom. Ms. Ayala is good at her craft. Her ability to deliver a story that has every element from laughter, to drama and optimism is one of the reasons I have become a fan. Larry, Jenna and a matchmaking pooch make for a charming combination. Valentine Hound Dog imparts a beautiful lesson in a light heartwarming way. Beauty is the culmination of heart, body and soul not flaws on the outer shell but the light that shines from within. I lost a piece of my heart within this cute tale.

This audiobook was given to me for a honest unbiased review. I loved it. This not only has fireman, "sigh" but has real emotion. The emotional side of of being hurt on the job, as well as the lasting effects. He may feel negatively about them, but to many of us this shows she is a real hero. This was funny and sweet, can not wait for the next book.

    Any additional comments?

This is the second book for the Hart family with Jenna, a fashion designer. She comes home to do a fashion show with her designs and involves her brother, the fire chief and the rest of the fire department plus Larry. Larry had to quit being a fireman after a fire that ended up burning him quite badly. He has an inferior complex about his looks and scars. Jenna can look past them but he doesn't believe that. She gets a basset hound to be her signature mark but he runs away and Larry finds him. Jenna has Larry keep the dog to train him. Larry gets attached to the dog. With a lot of misunderstandings and some troubles, Larry finally sees that he's letting his scars keep him from living to the fullest. I really like how the Hart family comes together and supports each other and Larry. This is a great story that I'm sure you'd like since Rachelle Ayala does a wonderful writing of it. Jennifer Groberg narration is great - especially Harley, the basset hound's howling :) I received a free copy for my honest review.

"Discovering Hart is Greater then High Fashion"
What did you love best about Valentine Hound Dog: The Hart Family?

This family is full of such rich diversity and yet through it all each person knows the importance and depth of love when they find it. I love how they support each other through the hard times and yet keep them firmly rooted in reality. Nothing is better then having unfailing love at your back as you brave the harsh, cruel world while cleaning up your own mess.

What other book might you compare Valentine Hound Dog: The Hart Family to and why?

I don't think I have ever come across such a wonderfully close knit family like the Harts. This is a wonderfully unqiue premise in this series that makes all of its stories believable and refeshing.

Which character – as performed by Jennifer Groberg – was your favorite?

Larry was my favorite character. He had such a blow to his life and yet when while he allowed life to pass him by, he was still there for those around him. He never stopped wanting the best for those he cherished and loved. Even breaking his own heart to set Jenna free to continue working in her dream career wouldn't stop him from making sure she was happy. He is such a deep and incredible character who has so much love to give to his lucky lady.

If you could rename Valentine Hound Dog: The Hart Family, what would you call it?

I am not very creative at naming stories, but I would name is to "Unfashionable Love".

    Any additional comments?

This series is simply breathtaking and needs to be on the shelf of all romance readers.

"Already looking forward to Book 3!!"

Lately, I have become a fan of Sweet Romance Novels, particularly those of Rachelle Ayala! My latest find, Valentine Hound Dog: The Hart Family: Have a Hart Book, 2 by Rachelle Ayala, Narrated by Jennifer Groberg is a new favorite to add to my list! It is the second book in the Have a Hart series, and focuses around the growing relationship of Jenna and Larry. I'll allow you to read the plot description on your own, so I don't accidentally let any details slip out, but I will say that between the fashion show, firefighters, and the cutest hound dog ever, I couldn't say no! It is a great story, and so well-written. It is a little over 4.5 hours long, which is perfect for a car ride up north with the girls, a weekend at home, or just one to hear on your day off work! I devoured it in 2 days, only because I started it at nighttime, otherwise, I probably could have finished it in one day because I loved it that much! Thank you, Rachelle, for your stories! I love the Hart family, and feel like I'm part of the clan, too! :-)

The narration of Jennifer Groberg definitely adds to the book. I prefer audiobooks, but it's not everyday you find a narrator like Jennifer Groberg! Her voice is absolutley perfect! She is easy to listen to and her performance is one of a kind! We all have listened to narrators act out the voices of both guys and girls, but is it often we also get to hear the voices of the animals/pets? Well, you do in this series! In Book 1, she gave us the the voices of the pet lovebirds, and in Book 2 we get Harley the Hound Dog! And...it's not just the typical, Arf! Bark! or Ruff! We get the real hound dog voice, howls and all! Way to go, Jennifer, and keep it up!

I rate the Sweet Romance, Valentine Hound Dog: The Hart Family: Have a Hart, Book 2 by Rachelle Ayala, Narrated by Jennifer Groberg, 5/5 stars. Although romance is not my go-to genre, the writing of Rachelle Ayala is so engaging, that I find myself thinking about these characters on a regular basis, now! I definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy romance, as well as to those looking for something new and sweet. I really enjoyed it, and I think you will, too! It leaves you feeling happy...I'm still smiling! I can't wait for the next one!!

Thank you for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. :-)

    "Valentine Hound Dog"
What made the experience of listening to Valentine Hound Dog: The Hart Family the most enjoyable?

Jennifer Groberg has to be my favorite female narrator. She made listening to this book so much fun. I love how she uses so much expression when she tells the story. I don't feel like I'm listening to someone just read from the pages, it's almost like she is acting out the parts. I don't have many audio books because I never cared for many of the narrators, but Jennifer has changed that for me. It is so enjoyable and never boring listening to her performance.

What did you like best about this story?

The story is humorous and yet touching too. A perfect blend to keep you interested.

Which character – as performed by Jennifer Groberg – was your favorite?

Well, it sounds silly to say this, but I still have to laugh at how she performed the part of Harley. I still have a smile on my face thinking of how she sounded when he howled or barked. Of course, she did all the characters very well. Even the male characters were enjoyable.

Who was the most memorable character of Valentine Hound Dog: The Hart Family and why?

I love Larry and it was so touching to hear how he went through recovery from his burns and what he all dealt with. And dealing with his scars thinking he wasn't as handsome or lovable as he really was. His bonding with Harley melted my heart.

    Any additional comments?

Another sweet story in the Have A Hart series. The Hart family are quite a group! For awhile I didn’t think this wedding was ever going to happen. A reality TV show and chaos caused Jenna (a fashion designer) and Larry’s (a firefighter) love to really be put to the test.Humor, Harley the Basset Hound, misunderstandings, miscommunication and a family that sticks together and shares their love kept me turning the pages. Rachelle Ayala always writes a good story.

    "finding love for Valentine's day"

A good love story of an all about business no matter what it takes fashion designer, Jenna and burned and scarred fire fighter Larry and a doggie named Harley who brings them together. Jenna rethinks her career after falling in love with Larry as long as he can believe he is not one of her casual flings. I received a complimentary audio and I am voluntarily giving a review.

"What a sweet romance (with a puppy to boot)!"

This was a clean, sweet romance that involves a burned fireman (Larry) who doesn't think a whole lot of his life or his chances at romance anymore and a beautiful woman who sees his scars as more than a disfigurement. They have a puppy (Harley) that keeps throwing them together and stealing the show. Jenna bought Harley to give to her brother as a firehouse dog, but Larry is watching him until she hands him over. It nearly broke my heart when little Harley wasn't received with open arms by the firehouse. Will Harley get his happily ever after and manage to bring Jenna and Larry together for theirs also?
